1992 Honda Prelude - Page 8 Questions & Answers
In my 1992 Prelude my heater fans wont even turn
Blown fuse perhaps.... but also if this car is equiped with air filters for filtering the circulating air inside the car .. if they become clogged it sends a message to the fan switch and the fans will not runn until the filters are changed. You can uusully find them in the glove box somewhere.
My prelude is reving up and down while in park its
That sounds like the mas air flow censer or the throttle position censor to me, I had a 1991 nissan fair lady z which did the same thing when they went out. Try removing it checking the wiring plugs, and cleaning the plugs and censors with electronic cleaner (you can purchase that at a local autozone)
When I see the light appear on the
security feature
turn ignition to on wait 5 - 10 min light will go off than the car will start if you have the 2 original keys it might be time to program a new key
H23 92 Prelude - Crank Pulley fell off
Make sure you check timing and the belt. if it spun don't risk putting it back on. Hope you got a new key. TIMING is important so you don't stick a valve through the top of your piston
Car cannot start. Alarm will goes off.
Battery voltage is not always an indication of the battery health. Measure the battery terminal voltage under load. Check how it behaves whilst you are cranking the engine or when headlamps are switched on. If it drops drastically, some cells may be shorted. I also recommend checking the TDC sensor.
Where is the fuel pump relay on 92 Prelude S?
Up above your gas pedal. It will be a gray box or a brown box. Don't buy a new one, just pry the cover off of it and look close to find the broken solder connection. Heat the faulty pin until the solder puddles around it and your good to go. It's smaller than a human har, look close and you'll see the loose connection.
My engine cooling fan runs even when the engine is
The engine fan circuit is separate from the ignition system and it is perfectly normal for the fan to sometimes be off while the engine is on and sometimes on while the engine is off. It should turn itself off independently. If it runs 24 hours a day without starting the engine then the relay or water temperature sensor will need replacing.
Engine will not start
THEN THE CAM TIMING MUST BE WRONG OR THE INJECTOS ARE NOT DELIVERING FUEL, HAVE YOU TESTED THE INJECTORS TO SEE IF THEY ARE PULSING AND DELIVERING FUEL? U CAN TEST THIS WITH A TOOL CALLED A "NOID" VER Y EASY TO USE, PLUGS INTO THE INJECOTR HARNESS AND FLASHES IF THEY WORK. ALSO VERIFY THE CAM IS SET RIGHT
92' Honda prelude doesn't start
Change ignition module in distributor. If it is actually starting and stopping right away, and the fuel filter is good, it will be the MAF. Mass air flow sensor. But if it was that it probably wouldn't start even after an hour. Sounds more like the module. You can change the whole distributor if that's easier for you. If it was me, i'd get one from a wrecker.

1992 honda prelude- trying to install new clutch
It is a small space on this car. I recommend ties or something to hold one side while you start the other side or help you hold. Tape works too. Have had to use it. Get the rubber seal on cylinder first before inserting. You can also use rtv silicone on seal to get it to seal first before putting on cylinder.
You can go to autozone.com and register for full free online repair manual. It has some good tips as well.
