Leaking sunroof

Had same problem with 91 Prelude, after rain, water would leak from moonroof, especially when stopping, having a wet neck on the way to work is not fun! Solution was to remove the small screens and restrictor caps on the drain hoses. The hoses can be acessed through the trunk behind the quarter panel cover on either side, just have a can ready for the skanky water to drain once the plugs are removed. When all clear, the drains should drain out right behind the mud flaps in the rear on each side. There are fron drains as well, these run behind the driver and passanger kick panels and drain around the mud flaps in the front.

Honda prelude si 1991

Hi you are going to need an idle air control motor. This motor/sensor is what holds your idle at the correct rpm at idle.

Wont go into gear when engine running but will when not

Hi

What is happening is that the clutch is failing to disengage properly. There are two common reasons for this, one is the clutch thrust bearing starting to fail, and the other is that the clutch plate has become contaminated with oil either from the gearbox or the engine. The other possible reasons are that the clutch plate itself is starting to disintigrate, but that is usually accompanied by other symptoms, or that you've got something stuck under the clutch pedal which is preventing it going down far enough, but I guess you'd notice that.

Sadly the solution is usually expensive....

Axel

Usually the indication is around corners the CV joint will make a popping sound. You can also tear the boot on the CV joint, but my theory is just to drive it until it makes noise. No sense in changing it when there is still life in the old one.
Really the only thing that goes wrong is the CV joint portion of the shaft wears out, except accidents and other unforeseen instances.
You can buy lifetime warranty axle shafts from Auto Zone or Advance and those kinds of parts stores.

Rising and falling idle

Hey, first i would check all of your vacuum hoses. Over time they can crack and leak and that can create the problem, then the computer compensates to correct it. The throttle position sensor could also be a possibility and in combination with a vac leak, can create a wide variety of symptoms that are difficult to separate and trace down. Get a can of carb cleaner with the little spray straw, start the engine and let it idle to warm up. Spray a little on each vac connector, around the base of each injector or the throttle body, and see if the rpms run up. If so, you may have found a leak that needs tightening down. Vacuum hoses can sometimes just have the split end cut off and reconnected. The hard plastic spaghetti lines may be so brittle they need to be completely replaced. Manifold and throttle body bolts can be tightened up, but occasionally the gasket may need replacing. I would start with that and see what it does for you. Let me know if I can be of any more assistance.

Wheel bearing?

If it is a howling noise it is most likely your bearing (kinda sounds like an airplane)

You should also check the tires for broken belts and bulges. As well as that they are properly balanced.

1991 prelude drivetrain problem

Wow, that's weird! If the speedometer is moving, but you aren't, then yes, something in the axle is not connected to the wheel. Were there any weird noises or symptoms before this happened? Either the cv joint is completely shot (u should have heard noise when turning a long time before this) or the spline could be stripped, but that is something I haven't heard of. If the clutch was shot, the engine would rev, but speedo is connected to transmission, so the speedo would not work if the clutch didn't. Let me know if anything was going on before this happened, I have a 91 Prelude (2nd since 1994, love it). countrycurt0
