How can I reset security?

Hello. It seems your key fob has a low battery. This will cause it to, partially, malfunction; making the car 'think' it is about to be stolen. Attain a new battery for your key fob. Good luck and keep me informed; if you want to.

How to replace the license plate bulb on 2005

It is much better to remove the trim from the inside of the trunk lid. It is quite easy and you will eliminate the possibility of scratching the paint on the exterior or breaking one of the lamp housings. With the trim off, you don't actually need to remove the lens. You can simply reach in, twist the bulb and remove. I've never had one of the lenses out (although I have replaced my licence plate bulbs) so I'm not sure if the ability to remove them from the outside is accurate or not. Also I take my replacement bulbs from here Aliexpress Homepage almost for free, hh Hope this helped

2005 sts caddy when abs traction Control System and stability system lights flash. Loses power until shut off ignition and turn back on. No lights on now but had scanned and got codes co242 and co561

Do you know what diagnostic flow charts are ? Every DTC has a factory diagnostic test's to test electrical circuit's , computer , sensor's etc... DTC C0561 System Disabled Information Stored The electronic brake control module (EBCM) disables the traction control when other electronic control modules set DTCs for components that effect the operation of the traction control system. The PCM or BCM diagnoses a condition preventing the engine control portion of the traction control function and sends a serial data message to the EBCM indicating that torque reduction is not allowed. The PCM or BCM will typically set a DTC and the EBCM will set this DTC. Diagnostic Aids This DTC is for information only. As an aid to the technician, this DTC indicates that there are no problems in the ABS/TCS system. . DTC C0242 PCM Indicated TCS Malfunction The electronic brake control module (EBCM) and the powertrain control module (PCM) simultaneously control the traction control. The EBCM sends a serial data message to the PCM requesting torque reduction. When certain PCM DTCs are set, the PCM will not be able to perform the torque reduction for traction control. A serial data message is sent to the EBCM indicating that traction control is not allowed. This DTC is for information only. As an aid to the technician, this DTC indicates that there are no problems in the ABS/TCS system. Your best bet , take it to the dealer where they have factory scanner an can read the info you can't.

Your best bet would be to have the vehicle scanned for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes first . Do you know which of these your vehicle has ? Keyless Entry System Inoperative (Active) Keyless Entry System Inoperative (Passive) Does the customer complain about other symptoms related to this, such as poor range when the key fob buttons are pressed or intermittent Tire Pressure Monitoring issues? (It's possible the RF External Antenna at the RCDLR may have a poor connection.) YES - Go to Step 3 No - Go to Step 4 3 Inspect the external RF antenna connection at the RCDLR. First, gently pull on the coax connector at the module. If the coax comes out, then it wasn't seated properly. Remove and carefully inspect the coax connection for bent blades or a bent center pin. Fix coax connection if necessary and re-seat connector until a "click" is heard. Gently pull on the coax connection to make sure it is seated properly. Was the inspection made? Press each button of the transmitter one at a time. Does the system operate normally? YES - Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections NO - Go to Step 5 5 Lock and unlock the door locks using the controls inside the vehicle. Do the locks operate properly? My 05 Cadillac STS 4.6L wont stay running unless foot is on the gas...

Check the IAC (idle air control) motor, the TPS (throttle position sensor) and the EGR valve - any one of these can cause the problem, but I would carefully check the IAC first (they often stick or fail due to heavy buildup on the plunger and/or a plugged air gallery).

My 2005 STS wont eject the nav CD and when I try to use th navigation it says

These navigation disks are prone to contamination from dust particles over the years. If the disk is not damaged (scratched), you can try gently cleaning it to see if that works. You can also try a special lens cleaning disc to clear any dust from the reader. However, if you have you followed all the owners manual instructions for removing it and it won't, you have a much more serious problem with the system. All I can suggest is a trip to a dealer to see if they can help.

I have a shuterring problem with my cadillac

Have it checked with a code reader. You have a dead cylinder. The code reader will tell you which cylinder it id. That cylinder needs a fuel injector change. Symptom being, when start moving and normal throttle, shifts thru the gears fine with no loss of power. As soon as it goes into Overdrive, it feels like the whole car is going to vibrate off its chassis. That thumping is what we call a dead cylinder. Because it is just that, dead. Yet when you push the pedal down, it will downshift and run fine. Change the injector.

My Cadillac STS 05 door got hit so i had to

Take it an have vehicle scan done . Your vehicle has a vast amount of electronics , control modules , communication networks for the modules to share data on . All it takes is one of the wires touching ground to cause all kind of problems . There are modules inside the doors that control power windows , locks , mirrors etc. . Hooking up a scan tool that can check for communications from all modules . Not a code reader . A GM factory Tech 2 would be best . I work for Cadillac ,have for twenty years .

2005 STS LED TAILLIGHT, HAS TWO ROWS OF LEDS, ONLY ONE ROW OF LEDS ARE LIGHTING UP?

Hello John Bland, Light Emitting DIODES. DIODES... all semiconductors are highly susceptible to FAILURE if improperly handled. In a protected (anti-static) environment they do have an EXPECTED LIFE CYCLE. In an UNPROTECTED... POORLY handled environ... you can expect the slightest SPARK... (you might not even feel) to render any/all semiconductors into USELESS trash. STUDY UP: ESD = ELECTRO-Static Discharge. Modern electronics should only be handled by qualified technicians... REAL "qualified" technicians (at least while the BOSS is watching) wear anti-static wrist-bands. $300 Compared to $10K, $20K and $60K (etc. etc.) circuit boards YOUR STS tail lights are pretty cheap... I'd still recommend borrowing, begging or buying a WRIST STRAP ... I am just saying. Having problems with climate control. Temp setting does not come back on to the last setting it always comes back on at 75. Also when pushing the front defrost it doesn't blow air.

You may want to have it check for DTC'S diagnostic trouble codes . A code may point to the problem , these HVAC systems are very complex . DTC B0248, B0268, B0408, B0418, B0428, or B3531 The HVAC door actuator is an electronic motor with a feedback potentiometer. The HVAC control module supplies power and ground to the actuator. The HVAC control module controls the direction of the actuator by changing the polarity of the control circuit. When the actuator reaches the desired position, voltage is removed from the control circuit. The HVAC control module determines the current position of the actuator by monitoring the feedback voltage of the door position signal circuit. The feedback potentiometer position is a function of the actuator position. • Air flow control 3 circuit refers to the front mode actuator • Air flow control 7 circuit refers to the recirc actuator. • Temperature control 1 circuit refers to the driver air temperature actuator • Temperature control 2 circuit refers to the passenger air temperature actuator • Temperature control 3 circuit refers to the rear air temperature actuator • Air flow control 10 circuit refers to the rear mode actuator DTC Descriptors This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTCs: • DTC B0248 Air Flow Control 3 Circuit • DTC B0268 Air Flow Control 7 Circuit • DTC B0408 Temperature Control 1 Circuit • DTC B0418 Temperature Control 2 Circuit • DTC B0428 Temperature Control 3 Circuit • DTC B3531 Air Flow Control 10 Circuit Your having air flow issues and temp. control ! DTC B0413, B0423, B0433, B3761, B3773, or B3782 This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTCs: • DTC B0413 Temperature Control 1 Feedback Circuit • DTC B0423 Temperature Control 2 Feedback Circuit • DTC B0433 Temperature Control 3 Feedback Circuit • DTC B3761 Air Flow Control 3 Feedback Circuit • DTC B3773 Air Flow Control 7 Feedback Circuit • DTC B3782 Air Flow Control 10 Feedback Circuit Do you know what a scan tool is ? Install a scan tool. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF. With a scan tool, command the appropriate actuator in both directions. Does the actual parameter of the appropriate actuator change?
