Hi. I need help. We recently purchased a Catera and the fusebox is a mystery to us. Can someone explain what fuse goes where or email me a diagram?
Thank you so much for your help.
God bless and have a Happy Thanksgiving.
Mike and Melissa Whitaker.
Hi mike and melissa, you can go to gmownercenter/cadillac and sign up at the website, u can then download a owners manual which should have the fuse info u want, and much more. Let me know if u have any trouble finding it. Happy Thanksgiving!

i have a 1998 cadillac catera the transmission starts off very slow before it shifts into second gear
You need to have it checked out by a mechanic as soon as possible, I drive a 2000 cadillac catera and it began to have the same problems about 4 months ago but last month my sport mode button began to blink which means a transmission problem. So when i had it looked at they said my 3rd gear was almost completely burnt out and it cost $2,000 to fix. The cause was a broken piece of the transmission was failing and it had to be completely rebuilt. Good luck!!

My rear tail lights remain on any time I turn on the headlights so I ultimately have no break lights at night. This is accompanied by my cruise not working so it leads me to believe the problem is more on the break lights end. Any thoughts?
The problem is in the stoplight switch. It is located under the dash. When you push the brakes, the switch contact points close. When you let off the brake, the open, turning the brake lights back off. Also your cruise will not work if it is getting a signal that the brake pedal is being pushed.

I did'nt get the key remote with the car when bought.
You can get one from the dealer or on ebay.
I would recommend an aftermarket unit with car starter. Much cheaper, 2 remotes and starts the car as well.

WHERE WOULD I PLACE AN OXYGEN SENSOR THAT PLACE UPSTREAM
Welcome to FIxYa.com Important: Removal of the oxygen sensor is easier when the engine
temperature is above 48CC (120T). ' Handle the oxygen sensors carefully in order to prevent
damage to the component. Keep the electrical connector and the louvered end free of
contaminants. Do not use cleaning solvents on the sensor. Do not drop or mishandle
the sensor. REMOVAL Numbers in ten in parenthesis correspond to numbered
components in image. 1. Raise and support the vehicle. 2. Disconnect the sensor harness connector. 3. Remove the oxygen sensor. Bank 1 Sensor 2(1) Bank 1 Sensor 1(2) A Bank2Sensorl(3) A Bank2Sensor2(4) INSTALLATION Important: A special anti-seize compound is used on the
oxygen sensot threads. The new service sensors should have the compound already applied to
the threads. Coat the threads of a reused sensor with anti-seize compound P.N
5613695 or the equivalent. 1. Install the oxygen sensor. Bank 1 Sensor 2(1) A Bank sensor (2) A Bank2Sensorl (3) A Bank2Sensor2 (4) Important: Make sure that all of the harness retaining clips
are intact. The harness must not contact any of the hot exhaust components. The HO2S
pigtail has white tape at the intervals, indicating the proper location of
each retaining clip. When connecting the sensor pigtail to the harness, ensure that
the connector seal is crushed uniformly all the way around between the connectors. 2. Connect the sensor harness connector. 3. Lower the vehicle
The upstream oxygen sensor is typically found on the exhaust manifold that is bolted to the engine block. It may be as far up on the exhaust as the the manifold piping located in the front of the engine under the hood. The sensor looks like a plug sticking out of the exhaust piping and will be the only plug inserted into the exhaust system.

Codes read PO335, PO304, PO336 i need to know what they are for, Please !!
304 is misfire on cylinder #4. #4 is the middle cylinder on the driver's side. P0335 Crankshaft position (CKP) sensor - possible causes: circuit malfunction Wiring, CKP sensor, ECM P0336 Crankshaft position (CKP) sensor - range/performance problem Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6715318-causes_gasoline_engine_misfires . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info.
The other 2 relate to the crankshaft sensor:
possible causes: insecure sensor/rotor, air gap, wiring, CKP sensor
Is the car running? If yes, check for a loose connector on the crank sensor. You may need to take the connector off and see if there is any corrosion on the terminals. If yes, do your best to clean with a small screwdriver and/or electrical parts cleaner.
From what I can tell, the sensor is on the bottom of the engine near the idler arm, but it has a long pigtail such that the connector is on top of the engine by the fuel rail. See pictures below.
for the misfire,
