Check oil level Light on 95 Cadillac eldorado
Did you check your oil level? If the oil level is OK and the light will not shut off, check the connector at the oil level sensor. It is located in the side of the engine oil pan. If the connector and wires are OK, then you may need to replace the sensor. It simply screws out of the oil pan, but you will most likely lose a little oil in the process, so be sure to use a drain pan.

Sounds like you have a low fuel delivery or high back pressure issue. Fuel filter is the cheapest fix usually, but sometimes the catalytic converter can get clogged up stopping the engine from achieving power.
Where is the starter and how do you replce it..the
Replacing the starter is labor intensive. You access it from under the car. I'm not sure of which engine you have in your Eldorado. But before you change the starter make sure it's not the battery or a relay. The clicking sound is usually a battery or relay problem.

Hi Ekoonce,
Ask your work shop if they've replaced the fuel filter and ask them to test the fuel pump pressure. Then ask them to check the igniter.
Maybe I deserve a rating for that answer?

Have the exhaust catalytic converter inspected...this should be a free service at your local muffler shop...The converter can clog with age and cause this exact problem...Hope this helps:)
Is there a way to disable the starter disabler
Unless you have the Alarm built into the vehicle you can disable the ignition inhibitor by removing the power wire from the alarm unit or in many cases by removing the in-line fuse from the alarm unit. That will cut the signal from the alarm unit that tells the installed Anti Start device from activating.
My transmission seems to be
try checking the transmission fluid or the transmission filter, and allways check the fuses before makeing repairs to rule out a bad fuse!

How to change the water pump
Solution 1
First of all,you will need the Northstar waterpump removal tool, You can get this from most reputable auto part stores.
You need to remove the air filter housing and ducting to gain easy access to the pump.
Remove the shield covering the pulley and belt. The belt is easily removed by levering the tensioner pulley.
The water pump is located at the lower radiator hose manifold where you will also find the thermostat.Remove the manifold cover and you will see the water pump.
Insert the removal tool over the pump making sure it is locked in position. You will need to use a breaker bar on the removal tool and turn the tool CLOCKWISE to release the pump (1/4 turn), or if you imagine the breaker bar being vertical, push towards the windscreen of your car,it takes quite a bit of force to unseat the pump hence the use of a breaker bar.
Installing the new pump does not require as much torque as removing the old one.
Tighten the new pump to 73 ft.lbs. making sure it is seated properly before tightening.
Don't forget to clean out the water pump housing prior to installing the new pump and don't forget to include a new water pump gasket and housing cover gasket.
It is also a good idea to install a new thermostat while you're at it.
