same prob i replaced air idle control and cleaned out intake valve or altenator is not giving right volts and fuel pump on start up isnt giving right amount of gas cadillacs need fuel pump to be correct or whole engine will not run right

Under dash passenger side of steering column just kinda hanging there. round and has two prongs.

Sound like you have a bad cv "constant velocity joint " REPLACE.

The first thing you need to do is to clear your old codes then drive

and see if they come back .

1. Re-enter back into the climate control panel and after all the codes display the display will stop at PCM?

2. Push and release the FAN UP (^) button on the climate control panel and you will see PCM DATA?

3. Keep pushing and releasing the FAN DOWN (v) button until you see PCM CLEAR CODES?

4. Push and release the FAN UP (^) button and you will see PCM CODES CLEAR?

5. Wait 5 seconds and then keep pushing the OFF button until you see PCM?

6. Push and release the FAN DOWN (v) button and you will see IPC?

7. Push and release the FAN UP (^) button on the climate control panel and you will see IPC DATA?

8. Keep pushing and releasing the FAN DOWN (v) button until you see IPC CLEAR CODES?

9. Push and release the FAN UP (^) button and you will see IPC CODES CLEAR?

10. Wait 5 seconds and then keep pushing the OFF button until you see PCM?

22. Turn ignition OFF for 15 seconds.

23. Re-enter diagnostics and see if any history codes re-appear.

I also had a hard time finding the blower motor resistor on my 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham 4 door. In my case it was located under the dash clear to the right side on the passenger side (if you are sitting in the passenger seat it would be directly above your right foot). To be super carefull you should disconnect the battery first. Next remove the plastic cover under the entire dash I think it is a 9/32 to remove the cover. You can now see the blower motor,nextto the blower motor is the blower motor speed control module, it plugs into the air duct for cooling, it is held in the duct work by 2 screws, 9/32 I think. here is a paicture of the part so u can id it faster, but remember it is right next to the blower motor.

Gold Eagle Engine Stop Leak Safely stops engine oil leaks. Compatible with all engine oils. Prevents costly IF none of these products work I would recommend cleaning off the lower half of your engine with some brakleen and checking to see how quickly it leaks. Most crankcase leaks do not leak as much as they seep. If it is seeping or has a slow leak you can clean the crankcase at oil change and you will probably not have any oil dripping from the underside of your car. If that is the case that small of a leak in my opinion doesn't warrant resealing the crankcase. If you do have a major leak and need to reseal the crankcase, you do not need to remove the engine. You do however have to remove the transmission and the cradle and hang the motor with a fixture. When resealing the crankcase, for best results use factory gasket sets and make sure all surfaces are very clean and and do not have any nicks or scratches. also use an anaerobic sealer in addition to the rubber gaskets, and make sure to properly torque all fasteners. As for everyones oil consumption complaints all Northstars will burn some oil. GM says up to 1 quart per thousand miles is acceptable. If you are using multiple quarts between oil changes you may consider performing or having the dealership perform a top engine clean. This will loosen the carbon from the top end of the motor and help free up sticking piston rings. The Northstar motor runs hot and has a tendency to pruduce a lot of carbon. In addition to this using an in tank injector cleaner will help the motor stay cleaner and burn less oil. Another common carbon problem will be in your throttle body. If you feel the accelerator pedal beginning to stick you should check the throttle plate and throttle bore for sticky carbon build up. It is easily cleaned out with some carb cleaner and a tooth brush. Hope that helps. Good luck,

well let me see you have 4.6L engine you need 7.5 quarts of oil with new oil filter.to do the oil change you need large drain pan and oil filter wrench and a metric wrench to remove oil drain plug you need a funnel also.you need first start engine let it run for 5 minutes to warm up thin out the oil so it will flow better.once engine warm up.turn off the engine.open you hood.now safely raise support vechicle on jack stands make sure vechicle parked on solid level ground.place large drain pan under oil pan remove oil drain plug you need a 15m wrench remove drain plug let all old oil drain out until you see slow drip then reinstall oil drain plug dont over tighten drain bolt.then place drain pan under the oil filter then remove oil filter using oil filter wrench or large channel lock pliers.once you remove oil filter wipe oil filter seal surface with clean paper towel.take new oil filter add oil to new filter then install new oil filter hand tight take filter wrench turn oil filter one half more turn dont over tighten will damage oil filter seal.make sure oil pan drain plug is in place. then lower vechicle. remove oil filler cap on the valve cover add new oil to the engine using a funnel to keep from spilling oil all over the valve cover and exhaust manifold.add all 7.5 quarts to oil crank case wait until oil settle down in crank case check oil dip stick oil level should be at the full mark on oil dip stick.dont over fill crank case.once you finished oil level correct crank engine check for oil leaks at oil filter and oil drain plug. if engine running okay you see no oil warning lights you ready wheel and deal.
