Hi, I have a problem with my car but not sure what it is, I was driving it earlier and was about to overtake another car, I changed up a gear and put my foot down and it felt like the clutch went, the car wasnt going any faster, it was just revving higher and higher, until i took my foot off the accelerator, it still drives at the moment, I did about 2-4 miles after this happened. The gears are still engaging but it feels like theres a loss of pressure, Im not sure if it has had a change of clutch as ive only had it about 18months, it has about 104,000 miles on the clock. It is a Vauxhall Vectra 2.5L V6 GSI, S-REG, this is not on the list of options.
Only way to check out the problem for sure is to drop the gearbox out and examine the clutch. Having gone this far in to the internal workings. It would make best sense to replace the clutch and pressure plates. Oil leaks can be repaired at the same time. No need to go to a main dealer because clutch replacement on a V6 is technically a very similar and no more difficult to replacement on any other Vectra

You can do several Things to reset your check engine light. One is to simply pull the positive side of your battery cable off of the battery. Im going to say to just leave it off for about two minutes then place it back on tighten it down and your done. The other way is to bye a check engine light decoder. Are find one from a friend any way it has a reset option on it that will reset it. Ok your welcome good luck and may the force be with you.

help me get the radio code. Can any dealer give you the code if you give them the serial #, the VIN# and the model #?
So far nobody has been able to give the right #.
I had same problem with my 97 Acura 3.0cl and i called the Honda dealer they will ask your serial, Vin, model and milage # and then they will give u the code.

i have an error Err-3 on my daughters car, i have put the 5 didgit code in and it hasnt reset
I have an Err-3 message on the car radio in my 97 Acura CL.
Just had the battery replaced and the radio won't turn on.
you need to take the neg (-) battery cable off to reset the radio. you can only enter the radio code 3 times incorrectly than it will lock up. i think you can pull the back up fuse from the under hood fuse box for 10 seconds and that will also reset it.

a D4 and Check engine light is on, also Odometer is not working on 97 Acura CL 3.0. Could Speed sensor be bad? D4 is Drive 4, no problem with trans at all, could Speed sensor be bad caused Check Engine light come on?(97 Acura CL 3.0)
yes and itys a very common problem yu need to change the speed sensor (VSS) on the trans heres how it comes apart

What are the potential fixes?
The ABS light can be on for different reason.
sometimes a bad speed sensor on one of the wheels can trigger the ABS light.
The ABS module, or the entire braking sytem may be faulty, to find out there is need to test the ECU/ABS modules usinga code reader, and to inspect the braking system.

Check engine light came on and diagnostic indicated EGR valve. I replaced EGR valve on my 97 Acura 3.0 CL. 2 days later the check engine light came back on diagnosing EGR valve again. What do I do?
One other problem is every now and then and always when the A/C is on, my Acura seems to slip out of gear (it's automatic). If I turn the A/C off, it seems to fix the problem. But it does seem to change gears on the rough side usually upon starting out from a red light or stop sign. It kicks into gear hard.
Good news, the EGR valve for the 97 Acura was recalled. If your car is under 150,00 miles you should be eligible to get it fixed for free. I had the same problem with my 97 Acura CL 3.0. After changing the EGR valve, I found out that the vavle itself was not the problem, but rather a blocked intake manifold. Talk your local Acura dealer.

both abs and traction control light stays on also spedo not working have checked all related fuses all ok have tried to scan with both snapon solus and launch x431 niether will communicate with abs ecu but will go into eng managment have you any ideas.The car is a 2000 vectra 2.2 petrol with abs/tc system thanks sash
had my 2000 chev impala 3.8 liter ,traction control llight and abs light both go on the reset it and go right back on .so i replaced both sides of the bearing hub assembly this is connected the senser,so far so good.replaced it dec 21 2009 about 3 hours ago. because the assembly came appart when took off.

how to change the thermostat for a 1997 acura 2.2 cl
Removal & Installation
If the hose is stuck, carefully use a pick to break the seal between the radiator hose and the housing. If the hose is deteriorated, replace it with a new one.
Remove the thermostat housing bolts
Pull the water outlet neck away from the housing
Note the installed position of the thermostat, then remove it
Some coolant may leak out of the housing as the seal is broken.
Many thermostat housing's are made out of aluminum alloy. A plastic scraper is very effective and will not harm such metals.
To install
A new gasket must be installed before installation
Install the thermostat with the air bleed valve at the top
Install the thermostat with the jiggle pin facing up. This acts as an air bleed and must be at the top of the thermostat to operate properly.
