How to test crankshaft sensor

Hi Ron, Connect the two cables to an analogue voltage test meter. Turn on the mili voltage scale and then pass something metal across the business end without touching it. and a slight movement should be recorded as a small voltage is generated. If nothing happens the unit is defective. Regards John

P0011

code p0011 refers to camshaft position(CMP) intake/left/front, bank-timing over advanced/system performance causes ---valve timing---engine mechanical fault--CMP actuator--- wiring I would be taking it to a dealer service department as if it is the cam actuator it will be part of the cam shaft and will require specialist knowledge for repair or replacement.. Also it may be covered by a recall notice or covered by warranty.
