92 Subaru Legacy Power Windows Don't Work

My husband's 92 Subaru Legacy is having problems with his power windows have all stopped working but the driver's side. What causes this? Is there a cheap way to fix? Thanks!

I have a 92 that did the same. After checking fuses and the relay(located under drivers seat) I discovered that the power windows control module on drivers door was bad. Went to a salvage and bought a used for $40, pulled the door panel, unscrewed and unplugged the old one, put in the used one and everything worked fine. About a week later, the passenger side motor went out and replaced that with a used power window motor. All windows now work fine.

The water pump is run by the timing belt.Involves the draining the antifreeze, removing the radiator/condensor fan motors, harmonic balancer,alt./ac./p.s. belts, timing covers and timing belt.Along with a new pump,a new timing belt should installed.Timing marks are critical and it should be repairer by a garage.Should take about 1 to 2 hours or so to do if everything comes apart easy. Also there is no cap or rotor, only a coil pak.Hope this gives you a better idea.

1992 Subaru Legacy Check Engine Light

Is there a way to check the problem codes without a computer? Somewhere said to bridge two wires to get the light to flash, I thought I found the wire and bridged it but the check engine light didn't do anything. I can't find step by step info anywhere.

94 subaru liberty engine cuts out when driving, power light flashs

I have a 1994 subaru liberty wagon. It has an auto electrical problem that my mechanic cant solve, he has tested many other parts and he thinks he has narrowed the propblem to the computer. The car just stops suddenly when driving and will usually start immediately but the POWER light on dash flashes on and off for several secs before you can drive again. Sometimes you can drive for km and everything seems ok and other times the car stops several times in a km. Has anyone had this problem and is there a test that can be down to determine if the computer is faulty w/o having to buy one? My mechanic has been great but would an auto electrician or subaru dealer be better?

My subaru fuel gauge isn't working too.

Did you ever find a solution for this? My fuel gauge is acting wierd too, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, I wonder what would cause this. My guess is a ground somewhere, but I don't know where to look for it.

You probably have a faulty sending unit which is mounted in tank..There is a access cover in the trunk which affords easy access to the unit and harness connector.at this point you can verify wiring and gauge operation by jumping connector which should read E....unplugged or open will make gauge go high...good luck

brake lights dont work Bulbs

brake lights dont work Bulbs are good and brake light switch is good

Answer

The power flow for the brake lights goes like this: Fuse ->Brake switch -> Turn signal switch -> Rear lights. The only difference is, if you have a 3rd brake light in your rear window, that gets its power directly from the brake switch. It does not go thru the signal switch first. So, if you are having a brake light problem, and your fuses are good, check the 3rd light in the rear window, if it lights up (assuming the bulbs are good, no one ever changes them), then the problem is most likely in the turn signal switch, hope this helps!

1992 subaru legacy starter relay?? car wont start

i have a 1992 legacy wagon..its automatic 2.2 l...a couple weeks ago it started having issues starting, it would just click once and not do anything else...the dash lights would work tho...i would mess with the outside lights by turning them off and on and trying again and eventually it would start. on my way to work the other day it did the same thing but no matter what i did it wouldnt start. by trying to figure out what was wrong, ended up killing the battery so i called my roadside assistance for a jump hoping it was just a dead battery...no dice...he hooked it up to two diff jumper boxes then tried hooking it up to his car...nothing, so its not the battery. im assuming its not the alternator either as if it was, it would still jump start but would die right?! pulled the starter out and managed to get a ride to oreilly auto to have it tested..they said its perfect...so WTF?! from what i have read on diff sites, it could be the starter relay?! cant find exactly where thats located on the car tho, does anyone know? im so broke at the moment and am having to find rides to and from work which isnt easy...so i dont have the money to keep buying parts and having them not work... if anyone can help, that would be great!! thanks so much

I prefer Big O tires.. they are great at helping and are better than Firestone and a little less expensive.. I am having the same problem. I have a new selenoid but I'm not sure where it is.. It isn't like a normal car where the positive terminal from the battery connects to it. That cable connects directly to the starter..
