1992 subaru clutch peddle stays

In 199l they were cable so I would look under the dash at the top of the peddle. Wiggle it and make sure everything is connected and not broken. If it is hydraulic there wont be a cable up there it will be a bar going into the cluctch master cylinder. Look for wet look (leaks) around the cylinder and wall. or peeling paint can be a sign of leakage. Then check under hood for fluid in the resivoir. if ok follow the lines to transmission and check clutch slave cylinder on trans. for leakage. Leaking indicates failed part and needs replacing. After repair proper bleeding is required to restore functionality.

My headlight socket is burnt

The sockets are probably sold at your local parts store. Just drive in and ask for assistance from one of the people who work there and they should be able to assist and for a small tip, even put them in...

All of a sudden the

check your coolant level. If you have a leak, you could have air in the system preventing flow thru the heater.

Please see my tip at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6235876-no_heat_fan_blowing_cold_air . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me with model, year and engine info.

Battery keeps draining but tests good and is only

a loose belt will squeal. it is slipping. This is the alternator belt. its spinning the alternator just enough to give power. having a loose belt is dangerous, it can come off while driving, getting caught in something, or leaving you on the side of the road. you can get a friend to tighten the belt for you (sure you know someone that works on their own car). check the belt for over wear, or cracks or even a tear. Once the belt is tightened, take you care to the auto parts store, and ask them to check for the proper charging from the alternator. Most do this for free(I even do this at my shop), this is the best advise I can give you. hope this helps

My subaru station wagon turns over but will

this one would best be solved step by step together. First question i have is, when you turn the key to the run position, do you hear a whirring toward the back of the vehicle, then that means your fuel pump is getting power. If you don't hear that, then it is possible that you have a bad fuel pump. Next, you will want to start looking at fuses and relays. Under your hood, there should be a block of fuses. Your car's maintenance manual should have a diagram of your fuse block letting you know which fuses and relays affect which systems. Look for any blown fuses; 3 things i would look at are a PCM fuse, a fuse in the fuel system, and a fuel pump relay. If there are any blown fuses, replace them and try to start it. If it works, you've solved the problem, if not, try swapping the fuel pump relay with another similar relay. If the relay is not working, swapping it with another should correct that problem. Try to start it, and if that works, the relay is bad. Let me know what you find looking at these items, then if it still isn't working, we'll dig into the filter and pump. Good luck

Heater fan only works once

if it only works on hi, then it's probably the resistor. if it works on all speeds when it does work it's probably the heater motor or the relay, try this, when it does'nt work with everything on try banging on the heater motor located below the glove box, if it comes on it's the motor.

How do I replace the ignition switch on a Legacy

If I was going to replace an ignition switch I on my subaru I would
1) buy a service manual on CD for the car on ebay for about 5 bucks
i would then read it and make a choice about whether the job was within or outside
my mechanical skills
2) buy a new switch
if i decided i could do it i would look on www.youtube.com for videos of other folks doing it
to pick up any tips, a moving picture being worth millions of words
if i decided i could not do it i would take the switch and car to a shop and pay them
to do it. i would ask around a bit and pay a little more to a shop which does a lot
of electrical or subaru work.
