What are the suggested settings for the fuel air

A standard rule of thumb for fuel mixture screws on most carburators is turn them in all of the way so they seat so don't over tighten them . Then turn them out 2 full turns then start the engine . Then keep turning out 1/8 th of a turn evenly until the engine reaches a speed over idle about 1000 RPMS . With the engine still running start turning them in slowly and evenly . The engine should slow down to idle at about 2 and a half to 2 and a quarter turns from the stop pisition . So when it starts to stumbly a bit its a little to lean so turn it out an 1/8 of a turn or so just do it evenly and you will be vary close to the setting keep in mind the setting will vary depending the ware inside the engine . The idle is a differant story depending on what you have for a control system . Some have a stepper motor that controls the idle and adjusting is limited to the stop screw and the adjustment on the motor . Look where the throttle cable attaches to the carbutator make sure your throttle plates can close all of the way this is not the plate on the top its the ones below it the ones that the adjustment screws for the mixture move when you adjust them in or out. The vehicle should if standard idle about 650 RPMS if automatic around 800 RPMS + or -50 or so RPMS . But it sounds more like you need to rebuild the carburator . you can get a kit for about 30 of 40 bucks and it comes with instructions and all new parts you will need . Just get a can of carb cleaner with the little red tube and spray it into all of the passages and ventures clean every thing and it should work like brand new . Its not that hard to do just follow the derections and don't loose any of the parts there kind of small

1989 subaru husty no fuel to carb

No fuel to carburator, you have a electronic fuel pump that is controled by a relay,go to the fuel pump it is under left side of the vehicle in the front of the rear tire, have someone crank it it should come on. if it doesnt check for open fuses if fuses are good jump the fuel pump relay it is listed on the cover, if it still dont go on replace fuel pump.

Ensure that your battery is good. Take it to a local parts store and have it checked. Most do this for free. If it is good check connections for cleanliness at starter and battery.

Hi I have a 1989

Well at that rate you must be driving in reverse or with the hand brake on SORRY but i had to say that.
No i would like more information on the car as you say you changed the oil ,well if the oil was 20W40 it should be ok /the pluge Well unless the plugs were the wrong ones to hot /to cold etc or as i said before is your brakes sticking ,is it smoking blue or black ,air cleaner if you dident change it then take it out and blow it out with AIR at the petrol station , if its new or clean then you must have it upside down ??? so this is why i need the information as what you did, when ,etc as your car in fair condition should be getting tuned correctly about 40 miles to the Gallon.
So let me have it ALL.

I would replace the ignitor/ignition control module and th distributor pickup as both cause this problem, really surprised it lasted this long. spark plugs and wires never cause a complete no start, a distributor rotor can, but only common in GM cars with HEI igntion

AIRTEX / WELLS Part # 4P1272 Dist pickup w/carb $40.99

Won't start turns over but thats it

If you can't hear the fuel pump when you first turn the key to "on", then it's not working. ANd if you have spark, then your problem is gas. Change fuel pump.

CHANGE CV JOINT RIGHT FRONT AXEL 1985 SUBARU JUSTY HOW CV JOINT

It's a pretty easy job if you have the right tools and jacks / axle stands. Too involved to explain here.. Your best bet is to get a Haynes manual for your car at Amazon (they are pretty cheap when compared to what you pay for an auto technician) and follow the simple step by step instructions.

1987 Subaru Justy losing power. doesn't seem to be

Look for green connectors under dash drivers side by steering column ...plugging these together will put the computer in diagnostic, then flash codes from an led in the actual ecm. Retrieving these codes may help isolate your driveability problem and I would be looking closely at the fuel delivery/carburetor as you might have some jets clogging and float level issues or even fuel pressure issues
