1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited,

The following assumes you have a top-post battery rather than screw-in battery terminals on the side of the battery. The battery may be new, but if excess side torque was applied to the battery post when the clamps were installed, the seal around the post may be cracked. Battery acid and fumes leaking through the crack (even if it is microscopic) cause corrosion between the post and connector. Try removing the battery cable clamps and cleaning them and the posts with a battery terminal cleaner brush. If you see corrosion (yellow or yellow-white crust) on the battery post, you have a cracked seal. Wipe everything around the post with a disposable rag, then coat the plastic around the post with petroleum jelly (but not the post. This will reduce the flow of corrosive chemicals onto the connection. Another possibility is that the battery cable clamps were not thoroughly cleaned when the battery was replaced, and now the corrosion from the old battery is causing problems. If you are removing or installing terminal clamps on a post-type battery, you must avoid putting a bending force on the post. That means when you turn the wrench or socket on the clamp bolt, you must hold the battery clamp with your free hand and use it to exert a force in the opposite direction from the wrench to keep the post from "bending." Failing to cancel the sideways torque on the post, as I mentioned above, will crack the seal around the post. Since I began observing this precaution, I have run batteries for a full lifetime without any terminal corrosion problems.

1995 jeep keeps cutting out is this what happens when a fuel pump is bad

The parts which determine whether or not a vehicle "turns over" are the battery, starter and alternator (if there is one). The fuel pump has nothing at all whatever to do with that. As for the "cutting out", that could be a fuel pump or even a fuel filter problem. Could also be the carb or deterioration in the gas tank. Good luck. . .

PLS HELP..97Gr Ch,still the locks keep clicking nonstop.disconnected actuator. Chngd melted master swtch. Checked fuses, wires thru & to drive door.WTF ELSE IS THERE? CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE. LOL

This can be a possible issue with the part commonly called the BCM or Body Control Module. The operation of the locks is you guessed it computer controlled. I suggest you see the dealer and have the BCM scanned with a special tool to see what is going on.

My jeep keeps stalling on me and the check engine light never comes on, people tell me it may be the fuel pump. i have been told it cant be hooked to compuetr because of the check engine light not com

A stalling problem doesn't have to turn on the check engine light . Try some basic thing's like cleaning the throttle plate (body) air passages for the IAC - idle air control valve . There are videos on youtube , also check for a vacuum leak ! Cleaning Throttle Bodies Throttle Body Cleaning To Restore Idle Quality

Fast Blinker

Usually a fast turn signal means that there is a light out. You should probably check all of your lights, including back-up lights, and turn signals. If there is one out then replacing the burnt out bulb should fix the problem.

I have a 97 grand cherokee larado and when I shut it off it won't start back up for a few mins..then it fires up...is there a kill switch on it or something else wrong possibly

No kill switch. You may have a fuel pump pressure issue, it may being losing pressure after shut down due to a faulty fuel pump check valve. Do a fuel pressure leakdown test, start the engine with a fuel pressure test gage hooked to the test port on the fuel supply rail to the fuel injectors, looks like a tire valve. Start the engine and run it and check for leaks at the pressure port to the test gage, repair as needed, once you are sure the test gage is leak free shut the engine down, if the fuel pressure bleeds down very quickly then you need to replace the fuel pump.

1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo interior dome lights come on sporadically, usually when road is bumpy but not always. Then lights and door locks go on and off repeatedly.

so if the car worked perfect at the dealer ( i bet it did) then he is a crook because, is not god like.? really how can you fix a car that tests ok. you tell me... Ill bow in reverence. find a shop that can drive it for a week and fix it. it has to fail for them to find it. diagnosis is that, using tools to find a live failure. i could fix it but it might take me 1 to or more days work driving and with my data logger attached, to find the culprit.
