Coolant leaking somewhere unknown, have to add to

sound like a bad heater core! the heater core is like a small radiator that is usually locaded in the dashboard on the passenger side. now if the leaking is really bad you are going to see water dripping by the front passenger tire or if it gets really bad it may leak inside the car. in order to fix this problem the HEATER CORE must be replaced. good luck

Location of air conditioner drain plug on 09 Cadillac dts

Do you mean your looking to drain the refrigerant (R134a) from the A/C system? If so there is no drain plug. you will need to find a garage that has an A/C recovery/recharge machine & have it recovered before you can open the system. If you are looking for the evaporator water drain tube it comes out of the firewall near the center on the passenger side of the car. you can see it from underneath the car. it has no plug though unless of course you've been driving many dirt roads, then it can build up a "Plug" of dirt on the end of the tube that can block it.

1999 Cadillac deville won't start

The security, antitheft or lock picture/icon is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterprets this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. This link explains it pretty well. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

How do i get my car to start ?

How strong is the battery might need to have it check for dead cells. It sounds like it might be a power problem, either the battery not holding a charge, or cables Hot or Negitive lose trace them to the starter. In the olds I would take the breather off and put a spout in the carburetor this step you ned to be safe step away from the veh before cranking. But if it only turns over 1 or 2 seconds then stops it got to be a break in the power to the starter. Hope this helps

What is compression leak

Compression is what happens when the piston comes up and compresses the fuel/air mixture. Then the spark plug ignites it and the explosion drives the piston down in turn, turning the Crankshaft in turn making the car go. A compression leak is when this compressed fuel/air mixture is escaping from the combustion chamber.. This can happen 3 ways. 1. Bad piston rings, 2. Blown head gasket or cracked head or block, (usually caused by overheating), Or the least costly.. loose spark plugs.

What is compression leak

Compression leak can be caused by a couple of things valves not seating sticky rings. if the car doesn't smoke it's most likely the valves not seating properly. you can get a compression gauge remove a spark plug crank the motor and watch the gauge. this will tell you what cylinder is giving you the trouble. hopefully this helps. .

1999 cadillac deville overheating

my husband did everything that everyone else did that had this overheating problem. It was so weird that my engine cooled at a light and heated up going down the road. I have a north star 4.6 engine and this is natorious for happening. my check engine light also came on and so I had a diagnostics done which told me my #1 injector wasn't firing , car ran like **** as well. After putting in a new water pump and plugs, ect. and realized injector was good a friend told him we could have a blown head gasket. So just to see if this was the problem I went to buy a bottle of glassbeads and the auto parts guy told us to purchase a bottle of BARS STOP LEAK BLOCK SEALER NOT RADIATOR BUT BLOCK SEALER $31.99 . He followed the directions and we waited 24 hrs. before driving it. What ever the problem was has stopped my car runs like brand new and I am loving it again. no over heating no injector problem, runs great.......I hope this helps. I know its probly a temperary fix but its a fix and now we know what the problem was. SASSY

Is there a module responsible for controlling front driver seat, trunk and fuel door on a 1999 Cadillac DeVille

That was a butcher-- not a mechanic Get a factory wiring diagram & straighten the wiring out, as the vehicle was built On that diagram you can see everything on the vehicle in the electrical system,no one can tell you what is were or how to diagnose & fix problems, need to see them on paper

Added freon - air conditioner won't come on

there are 2 pressure switches in the system 1 stops the ac compressor if there is not enough gas in the system and the other stops the compressor if there is too much gas . Next if there is a problem in the TX valve ( blocked orifice) then the head pressure will be too high and the compressor will not work. Next if you have not had the system checked for leaks ( why did you put more gas in ) then it has probably already been pumped out through the hole.. While you consider it a saving to do your own in the long run it is more expensive not to use an accredited auto air conditioner shop.
