Pulled radio to get serial # and now I can't get the radio to go into code input mode. it just says "safe" and the icon for pause is on

If you've entered a bad code a couple times, you need to wait an hour while the radio and ignition are on. Then, turn on the radio, SAFE should be displayed. Then Press the FM1 button and hold it down, then while holding down the FM1 button, press and hold the AM buttons so that both buttons are held down simultaneously. Release the buttons. Now enter the correct code using the radio pre-set station buttons (one through 4). Button 1 changes the first digit in the code "1"000, Button "two" changes the second digit in the code 1"0" "three" 00, button changes the third digit, button 4 changes the last digit in the code. In most cases the first digit is a 1 and won't need to be changed. You push each pre-set station button multiple times to step through the digits (1-9) to get the correct code displayed. Code 1246 would entered by pushing button "2" two times, pushing button 3 four times, and pushing button 4, six times. After entering the correct security code, push and hold down the FM1 and AM button simultaneously as before until SAFE is displayed, then release the 2 buttons, and now the radio should now work.

Ignition, will not start, no spark att all... The

    Types
  1. The 1993 Dodge transmissions could be found in the Caravan, Colt, Dakota, Daytona, Dynast, Intrepid, Ran Van, Ram Wagon, Ram Charger, Shadow, Spirit, Stealth, Viper and W150. Each had a unique array of transmissions best suited for the model's design.
  2. In 1993, the Dodge transmissions varied between 3- and 6-speeds. A 3-speed automatic transmission was available, and there was a variant that included overdrive. The only other automatic transmission included 4-speeds. A 5-speed manual gearbox found its way into several of the 1993 Dodge models, and a 6-speed manual was equipped in the Viper.
  3. The number of speeds and style of transmission may have looked the same on paper, but it did not mean they were all the same. An automatic transmission in a passenger sedan could be geared drastically different from one in a truck. Transmissions may have the same number of speeds, but they may not be geared identically.
  4. Transmissions were used in the 1993 Dodge to effectively transfer power from the engine to the wheels of the vehicle. The power could be passed to the front or rear wheels. Models equipped with all- and four-wheel-drive had power at all four-wheels.

I just want to replace the radiator and themostat

The thermostat is located in the engine block just to the side of the water pump underneath the housing where the upper radiator hose is attached.
  1. Remove the lower engine shield.
  2. Place a large drain pan under the vehicle to collect the coolant.
  3. Remove the radiator cap and drain the cooling system into a suitable container.
  4. Place a large drain pan under the engine block drain located at the bottom of the engine near the vicinity of the flywheel and the oil pan.
  5. Drain the engine block coolant into a suitable container.
  6. Place the (hood) lock carrier in the 'service position'. For additional information, please refer to the following topic(s): Body And Trim, Service Position, Front Bumper, Hood Lock Carrier.
  7. Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, please refer to the following topic(s): General Information And Maintenance, Routing Maintenance And Tune-Up.
  8. If installed, remove the upper front engine cover.
  9. Remove the toothed camshaft drive belt from the right side cylinder head to allow enough access to remove the thermostat housing. Cover and protect the drive belt from residual coolant.
  10. Remove the mounting fasteners; remove the housing, then the thermostat.

This is for the thermostat..

Audi 100 1993, ok but how do i put the tranni

If you can't find a dipstick then you probably have to put the fluid back directly into the tranny pan.  There should be a second plug that sits higher up that you take out and then get some sort of pump or tube so you can fill it back up.  I just did this with my Trooper tonight.  Takes a while to get the fluid back in but once it starts dripping back out the fill hole a little you are good to plug it back up.  Thank you for an honest ranking and for using FixYa!

I have a 1991 audi

the heater doesn't work because the system has air in it, have the radiator tested with a Stant pressure testing tool, u can get this done very cheaply. To bleed the system do the following

To bleed system of air use a floor jack and raise the front of the car as high as poss, then fill the coolant recovery tank full and run the engine until it just starts to overheat, high end of normal zone on gage, then shut the engine down and run cold water over the radiator core, this will self bleed the system and the coolant will be pulled from the recovery tank, repeat as necessary, never let the recovery tank run dry or more air will be pulled into the cooling systeml , if it still overheats then you need to have the head gaskets checked with a gas analyzer for hydrocarbons present in the radiator or recovery tank

Engine wont start, fuel not

just off the top of my head i would say check the fuel pump relay but to be sure you should have the car read for codes auto -zone will do it for free this will give you a better idea as to whats going on with the vehicle also the pump may be working but it can still be bad because the pressure is not what it should be it should be 14psi at a minimum the higher the better. hopes this helps you a little.

My Audi 500 SEL 1993 model is difficult to start -

bad fuel, bad fuel pump, clogged fuel fiter, injectors or fuel fiter. If injectors are leaking at o-rings on rail or cylinder head your sucking in air and changing mixture ratio, computer can't compensate. Try all these things before proceding further... also when cold thew seals may be holding but when warmed up this is can be a very dangerous fire condition!
