GEARBOX WONT GO INTO GEAR
hi from uk could you please give a little more info ? what make/model car ? has this problem occured suddenly? has car been layed up off road some time prior to this unable to select gears ? this problem sounds very much like the clutch drive plate is either stuck to flywheel hence question above ? or it is sticking on primary/spigot shaft for some reason and failing to disengage drive to g/box? how does clutch pedal feel ? you might try selecting 2nd gear with clutch fully pressed and h/brake on then try starting engine if engine starts ?runs then put slight revs on and slip clutch a few times this may work if plate is sticking? if you come back with update may be able to advise further

Engine missing & Gear box not shifting
I believe the vehicle to be in" limp mode" which means that you have a sensor or something going or gone bad. raise the hood , turn the headlights on then go take the ground cable off of the battery and then take the positive terminal off. Leave them off for say 30 minutes then turn the head light switch off and put the battery cables back on in the reverse of how i told you take them off and see if that fixes your problem!

Automatic gearbox won't engage any gear
if the fluid is full then the only thing it can be is either the trans range selector switch, the trans computer or a mechanical failure in the trans, u will need the system tested for any stored trouble codes.

My audi 80 1991 has irregular running engine.
clean the throttle body inside. check the idle airspeed control valve,(iac) is ok....check the sensor wires located on the air cleaner assembly if the air flow sensor is gone,it will not run proper. start with a good tune up ....correct plugs, wires cap rotor.fuel filter and pcv valve..check all the vacuum lines are tight.

Will not engage into any gear
That is very doubtful. The best thing to do is have a ****** repair shop look at it as guessing gets you nowhere.

If water pump fails, how would i know? the car is
Typically, when a water pump fails, it fails because it is leaking. You will lose the coolant and your car will over heat. We must not be on the same measurement ... where I am, coolant temp of 60 is very cold. Keep an eye on it ... add water/antifreeze as necessary. Watch for leaking on the ground or on the motor.
