I have a subaru impreza sport wagon 2.0
Hello, I would start by calling local independent shops and find out how much they would charge you. Most shops have the resources to find used parts fairly cheap. The 1.8 will not work with your vehicle, the bell housing is a different bolt pattern. I hope this info helps...(subyguru)...
Need timing specs for 1997 subaru impreza 2.2
These are specs for a 2.2L which will also work for the 2.5L cuz they are the same picture. Have fun and remember, if you get the timing marks wrong the on the single overhead cam(1st picture) you won't hurt the engine, you'll just have to re-time it. But, if you DO get the timing marks wrong on the duel over head cam engine(2nd picture) you will bend every single valve in both cylinder heads of that engine. If this is your first time(I have to assume it is just to be safe you see) I recommend 2 people performing this task, it's just better that way. Good luck!!!!!!!
And this is the dual over head cam picture...
My cruise control stopped working
there is a little black or white depending on the brand rubber buttong located on the clutch pedal that just pops out and pops back in. what happens is the pressure ends up putting a dent in the rubber and so it no longer makes proper contact. its is like a 2 dollar part. good luck

Power light is blinking
take it to a specialist in auto boxes ,think the fault is electronic but without the proper test equipment i would just be shooting in the dark
I just bought a used impreza 97 2.2 awd automatic.
The fuse under the hood is for the control of the all wheel drive. But, remove the fuse for it to work all wheels, install fuse for just front wheels drive. Good luck and hope it helps. Have a great day. P.S. My wife and I play with one of our Outbacksw in the back of our property. Tonight we were throwing snow up over the hood. Real fun.
I have a 1997 subaru impreza the battery was put
Reversed polarity on a car is not good...Could have damaged the car's ECM or other components. I would go through all the fuses and verify that none of them are blown. You will need to pull each one and visually inspect them. Any that you found blown make sure to replace with the same amp rating. Hopefully you do find a fuse that is blown because that means the fuse probably save the car from damage. I would start with the fuse box located in the engine compartment but also check the one under the dash. You might find one of the larger main fuses has been blown. If all the fuses are good then a sensor or ECM might have taken a voltage hit. You would then need to verify that the engine is getting spark and fuel...then go from there.
Diagram for replacing timing belt
Hi Alexei,
Thanks for using FixYa. Please follow
these instructions on how to replace Timing Belt in your Subaru:
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove alternator drive belt.
Remove crankshaft pulley bolt. Remove crankshaft pulley. If engine is
removed from vehicle, crankshaft can be held using Flywheel Stopper or
equivalent for M/T models or Drive Plate Stopper or equivalent for A/T
models.
- Remove front, left and right timing belt covers. If timing belt is
to be reused, mark belt to indicate original direction of rotation before
removal. Use crankshaft socket to turn crankshaft pulley.
- Align crankshaft and camshaft timing notches with corresponding
notches on timing cover and engine block. Use white paint to mark timing
belt in relation to sprocket timing marks. Loosen tensioner adjuster
mounting bolts. Remove belt idler no.2 and then remove the timing belt.
