You likely have a leaking air bag in the suspension, they last about 100,000 miles on average. Have a shop test the bags for leaks.

Clean the carburetor and add a fuel cleaning additive to the tank. That should do it. Your alternator should be fine, but get that checked if the other suggestions don't work.

Check condition of all pads for wear, and also fluid level in reservoir.
It could be gradual wear, air in the lines - or a failed flexi-pipe.
Make sure this is fixed as soon as possible for safety reasons.

Two fuel pumps are in the fuel tank. The tanks dipps down on both sides of the drive shaft. the drive shapt has to be removed to get the tank out and it's best to remove all the gas from the tank before removeing the tank .. this work is very dangerouse and is best left to a professional madechaanic.

This sounds like the Mass Air Flow sensor is causing this problem. To be sure, I would take the vehicle to Autozone and have them run diagnostics on the computer. This is totally free. They will give you a printout of the codes. The codes will tell what is malfunctioning. More than likely you will find that the Mass Air Flow sensor is bad. It will probably be in the history, since it is only doing this every once in a while. But if it shows up, then you might want to buy and replace the Mass Air Flow sensor. If not let me know what the codes are and I will help figure out what the problem is.

It sounds like you have a misfire condition. It is probably time for a tune-up. Lexus recommends spark plugs at 60K and the timing belt replaced 100k for your 470. hope this helps.

Depending on the engine it may be in the lifter valley. I had an early 90s Lexus in a few months ago that needed a starter. It had a v8 that had the starter located under the intake manifold. Turned out to be a 6 hour job. If you end up replacing the starter, be sure to get a starter directly from Lexus. It's not worth the chancing it with an aftermarket rebuilt starter.

I'm in the middle of repairing this right now on my 2000. I noticed that in addition to the two anti-theft bolts that need to be removed, there is another bolt on top of the SCLA that when screwed all the way in, is supposed to align with a hole in a rotating assembly that is inside the steering column. I believe that if this is not aligned, then it won't hold the lock in place and when you turn the steering wheel you might get the behavior that you are seeing.

yes aluminum rims? if so your aluminum rims ahve vulcanized themselves to your stell brake rotors. this happens with dissimilar metals. only force and heat will make it come off. you can try yourself or have a shop do it. at home jack up car , remove lug nuts. place car on jack stands with the offending wheel in the air. you will have to throw a large heavy solid wooden block to dislodge the stuck wheel. it is not easy or pretty to do.

which fan are you talking about.blower fan or cooling fan.

you may have a bad idle air control valve. If the car stays running if you slightly keep your foot on the gas then this is what I would suspect first. Usually a code will not be stored for this condition..
Also clean the throttle body. It may be gummed up by the throttle plate reducing the amount of air bypassing it
