replace the ECU ( ECM ) with another unit you will need to get one from another exact same vehicle and there should not be any other problems other than the immobilizer which you can get reprogrammed or have the keys reprogrammed to the ECM The unit getting hot and draining the battery indicates that it has failed and has to be replaced Wreckers / junk yards that dismantle your make of vehicle will have comparable units st a reasonable price ( probably an arm but you will keep your leg) or there are companies that can recondition your existing unit or sell you an service exchange unit for around 2/3 the price of a new genuine unit

look at the wiring at the rear end and check for broken wires , broken wires at the connectors , loose harness connections ,dirty connections , power at the harness plug at the ABS and ECM unit..

check trouble codes first if nothing then may be really dirty. buy 2 cans of injector cleaner put in the gas tank add one gallon of gas and drive till you need more gas should clean good if dirty, if not that then see a mechanic.

You are possibly low on power steering fluid. Check the reservoir and top it up as needed. You will need to do this again after a short while, as air works its way out of the pipes.Then you should think about why it got low to start with. It is possible the power steering gear has sprung a leak somewhere. A common place for that is the steering rack end seals.
