well the pictures are not in order but you can see what the cover looks like, the filter will be right under it .. there is two screws that are holding that cover in place.the picture above that is how it will look when you remove that cover.you will need a filter wrench to remove it..

check the alternator. Sounds like your battery is not being recharged adequately. If you go to AutoZone they will do a circuit diagnosis for free. If its not the Alternator start looking at the starter

I have this exact same problem with my 2006 IS 250 as well. It happened just last week and it was sudden; I pulled out of a parking lot and noticed the steering wheel was very hard to turn. I wonder if this is going to end up being another recall for toyota.

More than likely what you heard was disc brakes, sometimes they transfer harmonics making it feel like trans.

If your unable to turn your vehicle off because you do not have a key, please understand that removing the terminal from the battery will not fix the problem as the car will still run. You should find a kill switch under neath the steering wheel or beneath the hood. If you can not find the switch, please attempt to use your car alarm starter kill function.

check the fuse in the fuse box and see if it not blown. Good luck

Do you have a remote for your vehicle?? and was it in your pocket so that you could have pushed a button on it?? if you answer yes to these questions, try going near your vehicle and press and hold the unlock door button I'm pretty sure that is what happened alot of vehicles have the function to roll all windows down half way when the unlock button is pressed and held

Check the power steering computer. Mine went out twice, once while driving 75 MPH on the freeway and was finally replaced. All the lights came on including the ABS light.
