2005 Lexus Ls 430 Questions & Answers
2005 Lexus LS430 trunk lid won't close completely
The latch is most likely the issue. If the trunk is used a lot, the latch is misaligned or a foreign object obstructed the latch from closing. The latch itself could be damaged. Carefully inspect the opening of the latch and look for bent, mushroomed or damaged steel. I would have to see to know for sure, how to proceed.

My 2005 Lexus ls 430's driver side door no longer responds to locking or unlocking. All the other doors are fine. Thanks in advance
I'm assuming that they're power locks on a Lexus. It sounds like a possible bad switch, dirty contacts inside the switch or simply loose connector. You can disconnect, then remove the switch and test it for continuity with a multimeter. Set the multimeter on the resistance setting (the ohms symbol, like an upside down horseshoe). It doesn't matter which one, so long as it's one of the resistance settings and you can NOT have it connected to ANYTHING on the vehicle (very important). After you remove it, if you close the contacts (by pressing the button) and you get 0 resistance then it's not the switch and may be somewhere else within the circuit. You should be able to call your dealership parts/repair dept. and they will tell you which contacts in particular to test, being as there will be multiple ones. Or do trial and error. You could also look it up online. I found the switch here (http://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts/lexus-switch-sub-assy-door-un-lock~84903-50040.html) for $9. Let me know if this helps or you need other suggestions. There is also a relay within the circuit that may be bad.
Change interior light bulb
If this is the light that is controlled with the center switch, it can easily be changed by carefully prying the plastic cover off and replacing the bulb, found at any local auto parts store.
I have a 2005 LS430;
Try this: turn off the Smart Access (button under the kick panel) and then put the key in the switch and then try to turn it (while wiggling the steering wheel), it won't turn otherwise - it's a safety system. If that fails , and the fact that the doors aren't opened with the fob shows that the signal from the fob isn't recognized by the security system of the car.
This can be caused only by 2 things: either the security system or the key fobs are defective or have become in some way unpaired. A visit to a dealer is mandatory in this case, they will have to test the system and reprogram it.
