1994 Lexus Es 300 Questions & Answers
Linkage shifter adjusted/fix
If you have no reverse, you have a problem. Try changing the trans filter and fluid. While the trans pan is off for filter change, add a bottle of Lucas trans conditioner to the pan before reinstalling the pan. Refill with correct fluid to correct level. That's your cheapest bet. Trans needs service every 60,000 miles
Horn does not work on my 1994 Lexus E300
Horns are nothing more than an electrical coil that has a set of points to open and close the circuit. This sucks the horn plate in and out giving you the sound. If it is blowing fuses check the wiring for shorts to earth and if ok replace the horn as the coil has probably rusted up and has a dead short inside.
The horn is not working in my son's car
There is a wire somewhere between the fuse box and the horn that is touching metal and grounding out the circut.Follow the wires from the horn to the fuse box carefully you should find your problem.
1992 es300 blue smoke from exhaust
The most common cause of blue exhaust smoke is oil leaking past engine seals and into the cylinders where it then mixes and burns with the fuel. Oil leaking into the cylinders can cause a rough idle, misfire and fouled spark plugs. So best bet is to have a local repair shop inspect for internal oil leakage.
Temperature control not working properly
It could be ur thermostate, that was happening to my 94 lexus es300, and the gasket was stuck in thermostate preventing it from opening up all the way, that or ur heater core needs to get flushed, what temp does ur gauge say inside the car?
New Alternator on 1994 Lexus, but battery loses charge
Did you ask the mechanic to change the alternator,or did you tell him to fix it? I would spell it out to the customer myself(not the service writer) that I would prefer to do the diagnosis, but if they didn't want to pay it,then there are no guarantees, and document this on the back of the repair ticket(saved me MANY future arguements!).If you told the mechanic to fix it,then take it back and say "Try again!".If you said "Replace the alternator" then that's what will be done.If you have no change after replacing the alternator, then you have to figure out what's not making it charge.Verify the large cable to the battery is good with a test light. The smaller connector requires a wiring diagram to diagnose, however.
