My 93 Lexus LS400 wont make a sound at start
Since work was recently done to the vehicle I would look to see if any connections were left unplugged or inadvertantly knocked loose. Make sure to check the battery terminals and cables to ensure tightness and a solid connection.
I have 1993 lexus LS400 has no fuel or no spark
its very possible that your problem of no fuel and no spark is the ckp sensor. or the crank position sensor. it is the only signal that the computer can not duplicate. and when that sensor goes out or stops working it also disables the fuel supply and the ignition system or in other words the spark to your spark plugs. i believe the sensor is located in the distributor. if not in distributor its usually somewhere on the front of the engine between the crank pully and the timming cover.
What is first and second sencor? I was asking about the speed sencor. Is more than one???
according to Lexus ls400 (1991 -1994)factory serrvice manual, you have two speed sensors.in most of cars speed information gathered from trasnmission output shaft. (some of them gathers same info from differential if it is rear wheel drive) first one supplies required information to dashboard. second one is supplementary. if first broken second supllies required info.
Where is the speed sencor located?
Second Sensor is located under the drivers side, on transmission.Below front exhaust pipe where pipe meets with the engine. First sensor is on the opposite side.
Lexus LS400 cranks but will not stars
CHECK FOR SPARK AND FUEL.IF ALL IS GOOD A BAD COLD START VALVE WILL CAUSE COLD ENGINE START UP PROBLEMS COLD START VALVE DOES SAME JOB AS ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR IT ENRICHEN FUEL SYSTEM FOR COLD START UPS. DO LITTLE TUNE UP MAKE SURE SPARK PLUGS AND WIRES GOOD, REPLACE DISTRIBUTOR CAP AND ROTOR,CHECK IGNITION TIMING, REPLACE AIR FILTER AND FUEL FILTER. IF CAR GETTING FUEL AND SPARK.CAR TIMING BELT COULD HAVE JUMP TIMING IF TIMING BELT NEVER BEEN SERVICED OR REPLACED.

Catalytic converter just one is
Depends where you live.... if your laws say different such as air quality laws etc.... but a surefire TEMPORARY fix to help until you can afford the proper repair is to cut open and remove all the platinum beads in the cats and then weld the cats back up again... no more plugged cats... but again only a temporary fix...
1993 ls400 is starting however
You don't say what color the smoke is.
Blue smoke means the engine is burning oil, so it has very worn internal parts inside. (lots of miles, or very poor maintenance) Not a thing you can do about this, except rebuild the engine, or replace the engine.
Black smoke means that the engine is running too rich, getting too much gas.- Get a complete tune up.
White smoke means that the engine is burning its coolant, which means that you probably need a new head gasket (Best case) or the block, or piston sleeve, or head is cracked. If cracked block or sleeve, then you need a new engine. If head or head gasket, then you only need those parts replaced.
I bought a replacemenet key
on the shifter console shoul be a little place to depress a button in the console to release shifter if this works you electric solenoid under shifter assy is bad
Its missing when accelerating
Hi Don,
The problem could be in several area's...It could be with the spark plugs....with the ignition coils on top of each plug....or it could be the synthetic rubber ducts (Hoses) between the air cleaner and the air flow sensor housing or between the air flow sensor housing and the throttle body....If the ducts are broken and drawing air through the cracks that would result in the symptoms you describe.
