Front Rims are very hot after short trips, too hot to touch, what coudl cause this?
Dear Mr. Tom the reason which is causing you rims to become hot after a short trip is either you are using too much your brakes or you have problem with your brakes master cylinder or the ABS accumulator,or calipers or pressure hoses are a semi blocked and on releasing the brake pedal the fluid does not return immediately to master cylinder and are going slowly-slowly therefore keep the calipers pushing the pads against the discs and are getting hot. My advice is to jack the car on a stand and start the car pump the brakes and release and immediately rotate the wheel to see whether is hard turning. If so open the bleeder to release the fluid and check again. If the wheel spin freely then are your pressure hoses.. Good luck.

Do you check the battery??? If it is fine, the problem is either the starter or alternator.___________________

Where is the low pressure port located?
if your are looking for the air conditioner Freon low side port i can only assume that your trying to recharge your ac yourself. DO NOT DO IT!! i work on cars professionally. the only way to properly charge your ac is to evacuate first under vacuum to eliminate all moisture from the system. if you have any moisture in the system and you run it it will cost you thousands of dollars instead of the hundred it would cost to have a professional do it. if the Freon cans worked well mechanics would use them instead of buying thousands of dollars worth of machines to do it.
All warning lights stay on
a bad ground or a alternator going bad will cause what its doing, you need to
have a shop check it though and make sure the dash isn't shorting out. good-day ! to check voltage from alternator-- with car running at battery there should be at least 14.1 volts or more at battery ( check with a voltage meter ). to check battery itself, shut offf car. hook the voltage meter to battery, turn on headlights and if the voltage drops to 10 or lower battery is bad. do the running test with all things turned off. you can also go to a auto parts store and they will test for free. auto-zone etc.

you might have a bad head gasket or a cracked head.especiallly if you are loosing coolant and its not on the ground. or possibly your hoses are sucking shut while you drive open the hood rev the engine and see if they are original hoses will sometimes have a spring inside to help prevent this from happening and usually new hoses dont have these hope this helps good luck

- I don't have the Year of Your Vehicle Owners Manual will tell You where Fuses are Located, if not I have Resources to Find it for you, need year of Vehicle.
They work when I press the brakes. Is it a fuse or something? I already replaced the bulbs.
Hi I figure You Need to Know That When you press the Brake Pedal Those are the BRAKE LIGHTS that Come on and are A
Totally Different
Circuit.
Now Off the Cuff I Think its Possible you have, 1 of 2 Causes for this After ruling Out Bad FUSE
- Headlight switch is Bad because there is a park light lead for Front and another for the Rear Coming out or the Switch.CHECK THIS "AFTER" Rueling OUT Fuse and Cause below.
- Is A Bad GROUND Connection in the Trunk that Runs From A Connector or Screwed to the Steal of trunk So Fallow the Light Harness FROM Tail Lamps Towards front of trunk Look for A Connector or Ground to BODY in Trunk see if it is Corroded if so Repair With New Eye Connector and Clean to BARE Metal Where its Mounted. IF YOU Find a Harness CONNECTOR Unplug it and inspect it for Corrosion if it is Clean With Electrical Spray Cleaner After this you may need to Plug & unplug a number of time to get a Good Clean Contact then Spray them out again. Plug em together check , If Harness Plugs Were Corroded and still don't work after this Plug is UNREPAIRABLE and must be replaced.
- I truly Hope this info is of value to you and it Gives you Tail Lights as THATS A TICKIC And I Love Helping folks out.
- Have A good Day, Rejakwilson

Lexus is very particular about the timing belt. I would check this first. Any slop or looseness in it, it needs replaced along with the pullies and tensioner. Timing belt kit has all you would need for it. Also if you have to replace this I would suggest that you replace the water pump also. And vise versa..
I have a 92 ls
check near moving parts, eg: near the steering column, look for any obvious damaged wires where they go thru or behind panels, the firewall, etc. good luck.
1992 lexus ls 400 timing belt
I have the same problem with my 94 LS, its getting fixed now. The camshaft sensor is telling the computer that the timing is off, meaning your timing belt is either jumping or missing teeth, or it may be going bad. It is a very big job, so I suggest replacing the belt, water pump, tensioner, and maybe the seals and pulleys as well. Are you at a lost of power, has you car ever cut off at a stop red light or when driving?
