If the thermostat housing broke, did it spray the fuse box, all the wiring and the ECM with boiling water whilst the engine was running and electrically energised? The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

For Low Beams: If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

For High Beams (if separate from low beams): Aim the headlight directly at the line you marked on the wall.

First verify the antenna is not the problem.

Not sure if there are carbs on car or if it is direct injection. If carbs spray into float chamber(s) if injction I think you will have to spray into cylinders via holes for spark plugs. Pleae note have never used starter fluid on direc t injection my self so I am really not sure if that will work. I assume that you have checked that fuel is getting to engine. Hope this helps.

What are the standard OBD2 fault codes you have? The would likely start with the letter "P" for power train.

The smell is probably related to the catalic converter when a cat goes bad it creates a smell similar to rotten eggs. You might need to replace the catalic converter. This will improve gas mileage and performance. The hot air blowing from the AC is probably a low charge on the Freon.

Is it a manual transmission or an automatic? If it's a manual (clutch pedal), then you've got a problem for the shop. If an automatic, it should shift into a forward gear or reverse whenever you depress the brake.

Where is the TCM on 2003 Audi A4 1 8t located IN ANOTHER post I read Remove the RH seat, rear seat bottom, and plastic trim holding the right side carpet down, unbolt the seatbelt from the floor, and the carpet will pull up easily. Transmission computer is in a plastic box under the carpet there.

Has the wiring harness to the sensor been checked all the way to the PCM?

The German manufacturers came up with a great new idea that many others have now copied and that is to eliminate the under bonnet filler tube and dip stick. Some of the German manufacturers have decided to eliminate engine oil dip sticks as well. These people are just so innovative. Thus you have to use the correct filling procedure as laid down by the manufacturer which involves filling the auto transmission from under the vehicle by removing the filler plug on the side of the auto unit and pumping in the fluid. I have an A4 and did this to re-program my key:

1. used the key to start the car...then turned it off
2. put the key in the driver door (door closed)
3. pressed the lock button on the key fob once
4. turned the key to lock the door.

This is basically the steps in the owners manual, but the car must be started with the key first, and the key must be in the door lock before pressing the lock button.

check power steering fluid level

Have your power steering fluid level checked.

You would be better off to pay $16.00 for a haynes repair manual for that car, it gives a step by step procedure, It would take a lot to tell you on here. If you are going to change the strut springs to the new ones, you need a spring compressor, and if you don't know what your doing and be very careful, and the spring slips and hits you, you will be severelly injured.
