The glass which is the rear window on my 2003 audi a4 convertible has loosened from the cloth roof in the lower right and left corners. It has been glued a couple of times, but every time it loosenes again quickly. Water seeps in when it is raining. I have even been in touch with 3M to see if they have a glue strong enough to stand the strain from the roof going up and down. Tried one of their glues without luck. It only lasted a few days. Audi claims that a replacement roof will run me 5,000 USD... How can I fix this?
well I went to Lowes and shopped for a construction adhesive. I picked PL brand Polyurethane Premium Construction Adhesive because it is (so they say) 3 times stronger than ordinary adhesives.
It is also water and weather proof
Bonds to wood, metal, stone, concrete, masonry, bricks, vinyl, plastics
It came in a tube (you know.. chaulking gun style)
How could it NOT hold glass to fabric??? Thats what I said to myself.. well when we have nothing to lose, we'll try anything.
I put a good bead about 3/8 of an inch in between the glass and fabric, waited 7 days and then razored the excess off the glass. Applied black permanent marker and I'm done. So, it's been about 2 weeks and it's holding well so far.
I'm a betting man, but I won't bet this is going to hold... would you?

I have a P1297 (17705) code that I can't get figured out. It went to the dealer and $150 later they say it needs a MAF. I put the MAF on, new fuel pump, plugs, coilpacks, dipstick and tube, fixed all vacuum leaks i found. Still has a P1297! Also I get all the misfire codes after the P1297 pops up. It runs like **** at idle, but seems fine driving it.
this is a faulty crankcase vent code. need to replace the crankcase ventilation valve...... darn stealerships lol they probably didnt want to give you the corect info so you woulndt fix it.... good luck............ justuscc

need to replace rear brake light on 2003 audi a4
Inside the boot is a plastic cap embeded in the boot liner. Remove the cap to reveal a screw. Undo the screw and the whole rear light cluster will come away in a sideways and not rearward direction to reveal all of the bulbs. Hope this helps.

Your in the area now of quailified repair center. It may be injectors, CPU, condenser, spark plugs. I would say, fix it then get rid of it. this will not be a cheap repair. Sorry. Good Luck

audi a4- on parked but the car is still on while i was closing the top i turned the car off and the top just stopped and now it doesn't close. basically i manually opened the convertible because it was easier than close it. so now i have the convertible open but does not close completely. does not open or close.
I have had this problem with my 2005 S4 Cab - sometimes the top will not latch. I have found that this was because the fabric near the rear passenger window was not folding into place over the steel structure. I just back up the top and made sure the fabric unfolded and all was well.

My 2004 Audi A4 Convertible's radio antenna is damaged or broken. How can I access the antenna to repair it? Is there a schematic published or available anywhere online that would show how the audio wiring is run throughout the vehicle?
You can fix it yourself. The stealership wants 1500 for diagnostics and replacement. The harness is about $200 at VW. The cabs have a design defect that Audi will not acknowledge nor repair. Here is how you fix it yourself. You need to open the trunk and look at the rubber wire protector on the left side between the trunk and the lid. See picture posted. You don't have to remove any liners. Pull the rubber out of the top and very gently pull it down as far as you can exposing the antenna wires. Remove the black soft wrap

replace batteries in remotes, then with key unlock car/hold key over windows go down, wait 20 secs, then lock/hold key over, windows go up,wait 20secs, then using remote press/hold down the unlock button for 30 secs.you have just reset the alarm/immobiliser.if remotes/keys dont work after this, then take it to a dealer for a computer/key reset.

The PRNDS lights started flashing, i had put it in d but was showing S . I pulled over and then put in neutral and then put in drive and then all the lights started flashing??. I was 5 mins from home and when i got there and applied the brakes the car made an unpleasent sound and stalled, (its automatic). i waited a minute and started car up and it was back to normal, put in reverse and parked it, what is this and how do i cure it please. also one other thing, it seems sluggish when taking off froma standstill, not accelarating hard just normal, any ideas.
It would help A LOT to know what make, model and year the vehicle is. But my crystal ball works rather well ... and it tells me that the vehicle you are talking about is a 1960 Chevy station wagon with a two-speed "Power Glide" automatic transmission! If you will simply confirm that, I will help you some more!
