I have just picked up a 2.0 ltr, petrol, 2003 Audi
Have them check or replace TPS (throttle positioning sensor) Ot's basically a rheostat that controls throttle as you step on pedal. After time they develop "hot spots" or wear at certain spots that are used regularly. They stumble when TPS has a hot spot.
Fan keeps running after car
Some cars are designed to have the fan run for a few minutes after you
turn the car off. But if doesn't stop until the battery drains, then it
might be a faulty switch or temperature sensor.
Or, if the fan stays running when the engine and radiator are cool you have a
very cheap problem: The fan thermostat is stuck closed. A new
thermostat will fix the problem--the hardest part of replacing it is
finding it. Follow the wires from the fan to the switch--it is usually
on the bottom tank of the radiator. Drain the radiator first and save
the coolant to put back in after you replace the thermostat. NEVER OPEN A
HOT RADIATOR.
If that wasn't it then check the following:
- Check
to see that your coolant level is correct. Top up as necessary.
- Lay
your hand on the radiator (with the engine off) and feel if it is as
hot at the top as it is at the bottom. If not, your radiator may be
clogged and need flushed or replaced. (Flushing is cheap. Replacing the
radiator isn't)
- Do you get heat from the heater? Leave it
turned on high and see if your fan stays running the next time. If it
takes care of the problem that could mean you have a kinked radiator
hose.
Hope this helped (remember comment and rated this).
97 cabriolet. temp gauge doesn't
Sounds like you need coolant service. When coolant gets old and hasent been changed it can cause the thermostat to stick open. When this happens coolant never stops flowing to and from radiator. When this happens the engine never really gets up to temperature causing the heat to not work properly. You should get a coolant flush done and replace thermostat and this will solve your problem.
Audi A4 2003 the car starts but the automatic
i had a problem with a ford explorer like that you should hear a electronic click when you hit the break in the shifter our problem was the glue that held on the handle to the gear shifter got in where you hit the button to allowed to shift in to gear and we couldn't get it in to gear they had to replace the handle and it worked great after that hope this helps
I have a 2003 audi 1.8. Last night it started
Hi and welcome to FixYa!
As a first course of action please remove the positive battery connector of the car and let it sit for atleast 5mins., reconnect it again and start the car. This will reset the car's computer and can resolve the issue.
If the problem still persists then go for the TPS (throttle position sensor) replacement. If the TPS is faulty problems like yours occur.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
Need to replace the electric
Seriously, you might want to leave that to a specialist or the dealer. Those top motors are synchronized and if you're off by a sec or two you can twist/damage the top. They are extremely tough to get in sync even for the pros.
The car starts but does
If you have a chip key, then the vehicle is not recognizing the chip. You either need a new key or need to get your key reprogrammed

I have the same problem and read that in some cases 3M Wind-o-weld has been used to fix it. I tried that, and as soon as I put the top down and back up, it pulled back away. looks like I'll be getting a new top

not sure here but i would suspect the rubber dampener built into the flywheel and its starting to give up the ghost and the rubber is perishing and starting to go soft

If you can supply me with all the codes your vehicle is showing, I can assist you. As far as the P1111 DTC goes I have listed the info below with some possible solutions.
P1111- Intake Valve Timing Control Solenoid Valve Circuit Bank 1
Intake valve timing control solenoid valve is activated by ON/OFF pulse
duty (ratio) signals from the ECM. The intake valve timing control
solenoid valve changes the oil amount and direction of flow through
intake valve timing control unit or stops oil flow.
The longer pulse width advances valve angle. The shorter pulse width
retards valve angle.
When ON and OFF pulse widths become equal, the solenoid valve stops oil
pressure flow to fix the intake valve angle at the control
position. The code is triggered when an improper voltage is sent to the ECM through intake valve timing control solenoid valve. Since the Intake valve
timing control solenoid valve uses oil flow to control timing, dirty oil
can cause the valve to stuck open or close. Before replacing the valve,
change engine oil and filter and reset engine code.
Possible Causes:
- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve bank 1 circuit is open or shorted.
- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve bank 1 circuit connectors
- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve bank 1
- Dirty Oil
Possible Solutions:
- Change Oil
- Replace Intake valve timing control solenoid valve
