Timing belt timing marks

Instructions
  1. Remove the Timing Belt 3.0 V6
    • Place the Voyager's engine in the TDC no. 1 position for cylinder firing in order to get proper alignment. Disconnect the negative cable on the battery.
    • 2Take off the accessory drive belts, and take out engine mount insulator, located in the engine support bracket. Detach the engine support bracket and take off the torsional damper and crankshaft pulleys. This ensures easier access to the timing belt.
    • 3. Locate the 2- to 3-inch wide timing belt in the front of the engine. Remove the cover of the timing belt.
    • 4Mark the course of rotation on the belt as a reference if you plan to reinstall it. Slacken the timing belt torsioner bolt and take off the timing belt. Detach the timing belt torsioner if needed.
    • 5Remove the crankshaft sprocket and the flange shield of the crankshaft sprocket. Secure the camshaft sprocket using a spanner tool MB990775, or something similar, and take off the bolt and washer to the camshaft sprocket.
    Install the Timing Belt
    • 6Use the retaining washer and bolt to fit the camshaft sprocket onto the camshaft. Utilize the spanner tool MB990775 and tighten the bolt. Mount the crankshaft sprocket and put on the timing belt torsioner and tensioner spring if it was removed. Hook the higher end of the spring to the water pump pin and bottom end to the tensioner bracket with the hook facing out.
    • 7Rotate the timing belt tensioner in a counterclockwise turn and tighten the bolt to momentarily hold it in place. Turn the crankshaft sprocket until the timing mark lines up with the timing mark on the oil pump timing mark. Revolve the back camshaft sprocket so that its timing mark lines up with the generator bracket timing mark. Turn the radiator side camshaft sprocket so that the mark aligns with the inner timing belt cover mark.
    • 8Connect the timing belt onto the Voyager's crankshaft sprocket, keeping the belt tight on the side of tension. Install the belt in the same rotational direction if using the original timing belt. Put the timing belt on the radiator side of the camshaft sprocket, and place the belt underneath the water pump pulley first, and follow that by putting it over the back camshaft sprocket and the tensioner.
    • 9Create tension on the side of the timing belt and correctly line up all timing marks. Put the crankshaft sprocket flange into place and loosen the tensioner bolt to allow the tensioner spring to put tension on the belt. Turn the crankshaft two clockwise turns. Line up the timing marks and tighten the tensioner bolt. Put on the timing belt cover and engine support bracket.
    • 10Put the engine mount insulator, crankshaft pulleys and torsional damper into place. Mount the accessory drive belts, connect the negative battery cable and check that the engine runs properly.

Water leak drivers side

i don,t understand, water leak drivers side, what do you do when your tyre is flat?, there are only 4 , its easy to locate the flat one , its the one with no air in it, so locate the leak , that,ll be where the fluid is coming from, if it,s near the connecting nossle you may be able,to cut it, if its rubber,& reconect it ,without having to buy a replacement , but i,d recommend changing it, as if its leaking, chances are it,s gonna leak do this again its brittle,do this your self as a garage, will charge you 20% more for the item, + labour, about $50>$60 a hour,so put some old clothes on if you have no coverals, got a screw driver.?

Too much gas being dumped into throttle body of 1988 plymouth voyager v6

at the risk of asking for clarification on motor size and equiptment, im going out on a limb and guessing you have one of three problems, 1)bad o2 sensor,2)map sensor, map sensor hose,or 3)if you have an egr valve, it could be leaking and tricking the o2 senson, oh yeah, did i mention the coolant temp. sensor could be telling the ecm that it is -40 degrees? check the vacuum line to map sensor for cracks, you should have a lable under the hood to show you the hhoses. also the coolant sensor is near the distributor, unplug it and chheck for corrosion on the terminals, as for the o2 sensor you are going to need a scanner or volt meter tocheck that.but check the basics first. vacuum leaks, ect.

I am very frustrated with

This sounds like an engine grounding problem. Sometimes it is a corroded battery black wire to the motor or frame. Clean the connecting points & replace the cable if necessary. Also make sure the ground wire, which is usually from the back of the motor to the frame is making good contact. Without this contact, you can turn it over for a week & it wont start. The cables usually expand when hot & may be allowing contact when hot but not when cold. When you try to start the van when cold, run your hand along the ground wire to see if there are any hot spots to the touch. Wherever it is hot is where the problem is.Good luck!

My 1988 plymouth voyager tries

Have you checked the battery and the condition of the ignition leads. Might have to replace the ignitions leads.

I am assuming the spark plugs have been replaced according to the service schedule.

Also if it is not starting then the starter motor needs to be looked at.

Blower fans for the air

This is a classic sign that your AC unit lost pressure. Your going to have to have the system tested to see what the pressures actually are. Being a 22 year old car there is a good chance the compressor seals are leaking and the compressor will need to be replaced.
