could be a blockage in the head or the radiator. Try replacing the radiator as this is the most possible point as more water Rests in this area to cause settling. I know the radiator isn't really cheap, like the thermostat, but it will keep you from having more expensive problems, such as a cracked head.

without seeing it in front of me its difficult to advise,i had a mercury but it wasnt oil injection so i iam not sure exactly how this injection system works but i should imagine its nothing more than a O ring thats perished or a copper washer needs cleaning with some wet and dry.I bought a new 4stroke mercury in the end because i got fed up with fuel consumption from the 80hp two stroke ,this four stroke 50hp will do about 12 14 nautical miles to roughly 6/7 litres of petrol at about 1200 rpm because iam only a sunday driver and the bumping on the waves makes my back ache unbearable,Well this is the land of fiesta /siesta /manaña --spain .Have a closer look and see where its leaking its only a mechanical pump running off the engine ,so it will have a push rod with some sort of diaphragm that pumps a tinysquirt of oil into the crankcase so it can mix with the incoming fuel ,nothing complicated

There is an o ring in there that is probably trashed.

on the engine u have a gear solector that transfers the movment of the control box gear cable to the other cable that goes down to the gear box. If u disconect the gear cable that runs to the control box and try to engage fowerd or reverse gear if the cable still does not move the it is the control box but it sounds like the cable is frozzen up so if u disconect the cable at the control box end and see if the cable is free thanks jake

sounds like you need to get the carburater cleaned and install a new set of spark plugs

well according to the make and model provided it's a 2003, and it is now 2010, so it's 7 years old.

I would start with cleaning water intake and if you haven't re placed water pump impeller in last two years would do so now ,before you lose a weekend off the water,Hope this helped .

Check the filter.... maybe something got sucked in...... also check that they Cyl Head Gasket is ok....

There are many probable causes for miss-firing!
1. check the spark plug for damage or crowning. replace if necessary.
2. check the HT lead for cracks or arcing! replace if necessary.
3. check the coil pack for resistance, replace if faulty.
4. check the valve clearance for correct gaps, adjust if necessary!

If the car has electronic ignition/fuel injector, check injectors for blockages/worn parts!

not sure what you mean here because when i installed mine it just plugged in on the engine ,and the control end as well from what i can remember with some odd cables for the rev counter that i never bothered fitting

reed valves either need cleaning or renewing

Sounds like you need to service your carb as the mainjet is probably partially blocked or you have a choke thats not opening properly or a blocked filter.
