How long will a timing chain last on suzuki vitara

what a great question. and very easy , really. stock chains or aftermarket??????? last in years, or miles>>??????? in town , short years, car not moving , but chain is, at Stop signs. on highway many miles. miles: a china clone chain will not last. a top brand will last. most last for 250k miles or more. if you chain oil on time. all cars made. all engines with chains. or what ever FATE decides. There are also CHAIN GUIDES, if a GUIDE fails the chain wips and guess what, DIES soon,. so its not just a chain , it is a system or parts that work together.

Codes p0455

03 VIT no engine option stated. hard. 0455 is classic EVAP. failure. 99.9% are loose gas cap or bad gas cap. tighten it, reset the DTC and drive, comes back, then its real. EVAP is the fuel tanks , venting system. its a Closed system. now. the code means it has leak. in the smog station the first test is the cap is removed and a pressure test cap inserted on the filler neck. and we do the classic, leak down rate test. if it fails you fail. not surprising, if the cap is tight and new, and you fail evap we do that test too, first. omg it does leak. i then hold a 1/2 rubber hose to my ear and find the leak. we use pressure at 1-2 psi on the filler neck (shop air and reg) to apply air, and test the system for leaks. we use dry nitrogen, for safety but if frisky?, real air works too. if not up to all that, you can inspect every inch of the system and might find a cracked or hose that fell off the vents. and friends.

Horn does not work, checked

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

Have you tried another horn? If it still fails then the problem can be on the fuse or wiring itself. There must be faulty wiring that's why it won't work. I strongly suggest that you take it to a reputable auto electrician for this will require an on hand trouble shooting.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Service engine soon light on

All you have to do is take it to Autozone or O'reilly auto parts or one of the auto parts chains. They have a hand held analyzer they can hook to your car's ecm and read a code, Then they will look up the code and tell you what it means. Do that first.

Repetitive thumping/growling noise from front

If the pitch increases with speed it would probably be a wheel bearing. Don't leave it too long as it will cause big problems if it lets go.

I have a Suzuki Jimny the engine turns over but

It is in the tank, on top of the tank. It must be dropped to access the fuel pump. If You turn the key forward till your auxiliaries come on, you should here the fuel pump if you listen with your ear to the gas pump spout. It will make a dull whiny noise if it is working.
