1990 Plymouth Laser Questions & Answers
I have a 1990 Laser RS Turbo. Won't start, no
normally a quick clicking sound means that the battery is low in voltage and amperage, but first check your connectors and the battery posts to make sure they are clean and secure. if you have a tester, check for voltage at the battery, you should be getting 12 volts or more.if you have 12 volts+,turn on the headlights and test the battery to see if it is retaining 12 volts or not, this is known as a load test. if voltage falls rapidly your battery should be changed.if it holds charge pretty well, than put thr battery on slow charge overnight and retry starting the vehicule.nb. the clicking noise is caused by the onboard computer that reads the voltage before startup and under 11.5 volts your car will make this sound.if your car starts put the tester on the battery again and check voltage,it should be 13volts or higher which means your alternator is charging the battery.
How do you get what the check engine light code for this car
are you asking how to get the code from the ECM. if so you turn the key to the start position turn off, turn on, turn off, turn on and leave in this position. then count the # of times check engine light flashes. it will flash the first number then stop for a second then flash the second #. it will do this 3 times for each code. then you check to see what the code translates to so you know were to diagnose.
What does flashed the computer mean
The correct term is to "flash the BIOS". The BIOS (Basic Input-Output System" is a small, physical chip hardwired onto every computer motherboard. It is key to booting and running your computer; when you press the power button, the power supply starts and the very next thing that activates is the BIOS which sends instructions to the CPU (your processor) to activate your hard drive and other devices (DVD drives, USB ports, etc.) which has your operating system (aka Windows) and boots Windows. Sometimes you have new technology you want to install on an old machine, and in order for your operating system to "see" it the BIOS must be updated with new commands. So "flashing" means that you overwrite the BIOS with a new set of instructions. No BIOS should be flashed unless:>You absolutely need to>You know exactly what you are doing and how to do it>You know exactly what to do if your flash goes bad.If a flash is done improperly you will ruin your computer and cannot boot. Period. Sometimes it can be fixed with a re-flash, but don't depend on it.
My 1990 plymouth laser rs
This could be any number of things unfortunatley. I'd start with fuel pressure. Check the pressure. It could possibly be your fuel pressure regulator.
Why won't the blower motor work in my 1990 plymouth laser
you may have a relay that is not working or your blower motor is simply burnt. find the connections for the blower motor uplug and test to make sure you are getting power to the blower.if you are then test the blower motor.if that is allright then test your resistors for the different speeds .it may be one or all but in my experience 90 percent of the time the blower motor is the culprit.
Its a 1990 Lazer RS
I must be missing something here, the question I am seeing uis as follows. (Its a 1990 Lazer RS have put new gas in it and a new battery, it hasen\'t been driven in 5-7 yrs. We rally need this car to run its all I have left to rezort too. Please help!) I don't see a question here. What is the issue. I can tell you that a car that has sat for that many years will need some attention before it will be a working car. The gas tank needs to be drained before trying to start, ot other wise the fuel pump in the tank will clogg with old varnished gasoline. There is a screen on the pump that will plug and you will not get any gas to flow though it, along with any filters you have in line will plug as well. Once these are plugged they will have to be changed before gas can flow.
Where are you at on this?
Transmission always in neutral
sounds like you ran it too low on transmission fluid and may have fried your internal clutches.
I had this happen once and trust me you never do it twice.
Check the fluid and see if it has a 'burnt' smell to it.
