How do i fix my ac so it will blow throuhg the vents

Most common reason is a faulty blend door under the dash. The blend doors direct air thru the vents and also control temp. You may need a shop manual to diagnose the actual problem and repair it.

Floor shifter is loose Hard getting into proper gear. How can I tighten it.

Usually, if the shifter is loose, the bushing on either end of the cable is worn out, and the cable must be replaced.

Thermastat location

Thermostat is on the top of engine where the hose from the radiator goes into the top of the engine. Follow the hose from the top of the radiator to where it enters the engine and there should be a hose mount with two or three bolts in it. The thermostat is inside the hose mount. Be careful you do not tighten these bolts to tight as these bolts will break. I did and had to drill the bolt out and use an easy out to repair it. It's frustrating when that happens.

Press the accelerator pedal to the floor and keep it there! Now turn over the vehicle, it will try to start and eventually will fire up, when that happens release the accelerator pedal and it should be all good!

How do I replace a serpentine belt bypassing the air conditioner ... I am not using the air conditioner pulley at all.

Odds are you can't. The ac compressor is mounted in the belt routing so it would need the pulley to keep the belt tight. You can get a used compressor from a salvage yard and mount it in place of your old part if necessary. It will allow the belt to run even if it has no freon in the system. There are a few vehicles that a replacement dummy pulley was designed for, but I am not aware of one for your vehicle. Usually if you try to run the belt without the compressor pulley, it will rub against something or not allow the belt to run in the right direction.

How do I replace a serpentine belt by passing the air conditioner .... I am not adding a pulley I want to bypass it all together

Even if the belt did not rub against something by skipping a pulley, it would be almost impossible to know the right size belt to use.

How do I remove the lock lug on a 2001 mercury sable

You need the key. If you have lost the lug key, most tire service centers have methods to remove them, but they usually destroy them in the process. On the Mercury Sable, the key was originally clipped to the lug wrench but was also sometimes stored in the glove compartment.

P0171 & P0174 indicate Lean burning on banks 1 and 2. The most common cause is a dirty or defective MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor. Other causes are bad fuel filters or a broken vacuum line.
