Trouble starting, turning over after

check inside the distributor cap for condensation , I'd be willing to bet that your cap has small amounts of moisture in it, which by the way will cause the rotor tip to get slight burning on it, as well as the contact points for the cap to plug wire connections, so clean them up , dry out the cap, and replace it and the rotor if the thing has to much corrosion inside of it, that should cure your problem

I was changing the transmission

That is just an assembly plug. What this means is that nobody has ever had the pan off of your 14-year-old car before. These plugs are placed in the transmission fill tube hole when the transmissions are assembled. Then when the vehicle is on the assembly line, the dipstick tube is installed and the plug gets pushed into the transmission pan. This is NORMAL! Just keep it as a souvenir or throw it away and don't lose any sleep over it.

My car is over heating, but running the a/c helps.

Most likely a bad water pump. Running the heat or AC helps circulate the coolant through the system but only temporarily. Usually you will notice a loss of coolant on the ground if the waterpump is leaking but it's also possible a bad bearing in the water pump is causing the overheating problem without leaking.

Where is the oxygen sensor

There will be 4 sensors in this system. One in each exhaust manifold on each side of the engine. Locate the catalytic converter under the car and you will see one just before the "cat" nearest the engine and one just after the "cat". What does the code say that was retrieved. This will help you identify which sensor needs to be replaced. Bank one sensor one is the side with the number one cylinder. Bank one sensor 2 is the one just before the "cat". Bank 2 sensor 1 is in the exhaust manifold on the opposite side of number 1. Bank 2 sensor 2 is after the "cat". I hope this helps. The size needed to replace the sensor is either 7/8" or 22mm. Either one will work. Soak liberally with a good rust penetrant at least an hour before.
