Ignition key wont turn 2002 voyager
several things to try, try turning steering wheel in both directions and holding there while turning key, this checks to see if steering wheel lock is binding , lubricate lock with wd-40 or silicon spray, sticky inside? another choice is try different key as old one is worn and not disengaging all the tumblers, all fails you need new ignition cylinder.
Gear box oil
my granddad has a voyager LX CRD, he has problems with getting the car into gear, as he says if you are lazy (cutting corners on the gearbox) it won't go into gear. we checked the gearbox oil and it was low and also it seemed that it was transmission fluid (for an automatic car) ALTHOUGH my granddads car was a manual. this is the one thing that chrysler don't come first for - Manual Carshope i helped you
How to open boot
Hi, it could be that it isn't the latch, you may have a
defective pressure line, both
doors and the boot. Cost quite a lot to fix too considering it is a
common fault on these vehicles
Ignition Switch replace
It is something you can do yourself (for alot less money)
I am assuming you are removing just the Lock Cylinder and not the entire Ignition switch?
For JUST the Lock Cylinder:
1. Disconnect the negative side of the battery.
2. Remove the lower steering column cover under the steering column. It has three (3) screws.
3. Insert the Key and turn to the RUN position.
4. Using a small screw driver - depress the Lock Retaining Tab. It is located right of center on the column in the area of the Key insertion area.
5. Remove the Lock Cylinder.
To Install:
1. Insert the Lock Cylinder in the "Lock" Position.
2. While pushing in - insert the Key and turn it clockwise to the Run Position.
Let me know if this helped. If it is the entire Ignition Switch, let me know with an email to this post. I will send the additional infomation (for free).
