Cirrus blows fuse number 5
the wiring is likely being pinched somewhere and bare wire is touching the frame and grounding out. was it in an accident recently? this can be common after even minor accidents.
Blend door postion selector
According to the book, I'm showing a mode actuator and a blend door actuator next to it. Some models use cables and some use small electric motors to move the doors. Are you sure you are working on the right door ?
Shift solenoid
The solenoids that are inside the transmission are on the driver side behind the cover.
1999 Cirrus battery loses charge when car sets.
Here is a neat trick for that problem (my 1999 Cirrus drain issue could not be solved) Disconnect the negative cable for a minimum of 5 seconds, then reattach it. Doing this before you go to bed insures a charged battery in the morning. It is when the engine is turned over that the battery drain begins again (probably the anti-lock brake motor) Try not to perform this too often, as it will mess with the oxygen sensors over time, which reset their data from the power disconnect. Oxygen sensors in this car gather their needed data from about 40 miles of regular driving, and it is recommended to drive the car often to engage these sensors occasionally. The car might drive slightly rougher after the battery disconnect because these sensors are not fully activated. They determine crucial fuel / oxygen ratios to deliver to the engine and its components...
