have your hood on and have someone check to see if your starter is making a clicking sound at all most likely its the starter if its not clicking means its bad and needs to be replaced. I had to do that on my car too when my starter totally stopped working on me. Check this first. when the starter clicks means its ingaging the engine.

This could be a bad ECU. When you changed the top, did you disconnect the battery? If not, you could have fried the ECU.

no lock r u trying to rotate by hand if it wont rotate ur engine is siezed. remove plugs and try again

You may have a bad map sensor or idle control sensor. You may need to adjust the idle itself.

check all the earth connections to the engine

just put something underneath and catch the fluid ,then when you have finished and refill you will have cahnged the brake fluid anyway ,if the brake pipe is corroded then you live in a wet climate and the fuid needs changing more often than in a desert climate.

Hello jonbon742, if you haven't already, change your air filter. 75% of the time when people have the symtoms you do it is caused by the air filter.

I have a car just like yours. My car use to do the same thing. When I checked for a code, it showed nothing. I would be driving down the road, sometimes 50-60, and it would just cut off. I bought a MAP sensor and that fixed my problem. Hope that helps.

I would start testing the fuel system. Does you fuel pump kick on? If your vehicle is getting gas, it might be in your ignition system. Need to find out if you are getting a spark. It may even be your computer. You should test the ignition system, it might be a distributor, distributor cap, or rotor.

Try replacing your fuel filter first, if that doesn't help, try the fuel pump relay.

This is a very complex question. It is quite a job to remove an engine. I would suggest going to the library and checking out the manual for your car. This will give step by step instructions. If I tried to tell you step by step, I know that there would be points that I would leave out accidentally. The manuals are free to check out. And it is well worth the time to go get one.

I had this same problem. The mass air flow sensor was my problem. If your check engine light is on then you can take it to Autozone and they will check it out for free. But my problem was the MAF sensor.
