Don't go in to overdrive
The engine
and transmission in this cars drive train are fully
electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Power Train
Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer
stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions
to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and
MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory,
to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned
with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must
perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the

1996 chrysler sebring convertible horn, lighter, and cruise stopped working
Wow!Sorry to hear this one. You'll wan't someone ASE certified in Automotive Electronics for sure. Sounds to me like the ECM or engine control module may have burnt out. If it smelled like electrical smoke, don't drive it! I'd suggest an AAMCO, as they do have techs now hat can do these things, wish I could say "Easy Fix" but I can't see the car.. :)
I changed motors in my seabring and we have went thur every thing it acts like it aint getting gas or fire what could be the problem its a 2.5 liter motor
Your engine needs basically four things in order to start:> Volumetric efficiency (V)> Air/fuel ratio (A)> Compression (C)> Ignition (I)V + A + C + I = POWERWhen there is no POWER (engine will not start), it is because one (or more) parts of the equation is missing. PRELIMINARY diagnosis is to determine which parts of the equation are present and which are missing. Then PINPOINT diagnosis is to determine WHY the missing parts are missing.Until preliminary and pinpoint diagnosis is completed, nobody can do much more than GUESS what could be causing your problem. With that said, you need to find out whether it is fuel or spark, or BOTH at the same time. The actual location of the problem can be narrowed down considerably by knowing this. EXAMPLE: If there is fuel PRESSURE (verified by using a fuel pressure gauge) but there is no injector pulse or spark at the spark plugs, the cause would most likely be a cranshaft position sensor problem, because this will affect BOTH. This scenario would also completely rule out a fuel pump malfunction. However, if there is fuel pressure and injector pulse, but no spark, the problem would be more likely caused by an ignition control module, because this has nothing to do with your injectors or your fuel pump. - proper diagnosis required.

The IAC (Idle air control) is mounted on the throttle body,Your PCM uses this device to control idle speed to compensate for engine load, before you decide to replace it try a throttle body cleaning,(just follow direction on the product you decide to use).
Car will start but it will not stay running
Had same problem. The mass air flow sensor was bad. Also know of another problem like this. The tube that runs from the throttle body to the airbox was pulled away from the throttle body by less than 1/8 of an inch. Caused the car to be able to start, run for 2 seconds, then shut down. Food for thought.

Go to your local parts store (Advance, Orielly, etc. ) and rent their puller meant for a Chrysler. remove the crank bolt and go to it. then remove the covers, the tensioner and the belt. Replace the pump, being carefull to place the bolts where they were and SEAL them with RTV sealant. Reverse of dis-assembly. Compress the tension er until you can fit an Allen wrench in the tiny hole to hold it until the belt it set and the timing is CORRECT. This is critical. then, VIOLA! crusin' on down the highway! and GO!
