eek, this sounds alot like a problem i was experiencing about two years ago with my '94 concorde. the problem was diagnosed as a faulty "shorted relay" part number iso 8- 52 - 328. the tranny has been working pretty well since then. my most recent problem has been the transmission not wanting to engage in reverse after shifting to reverse - just sits there. the past week though its been working fine. oh well. good luck I have a 95 Chrysler Concorde, I put it into reverse the other day and something went very wrong, I had the wheel cranked all the way in one direction, while backing up. Then it stopped, i no longer had reverse, I put it into drive, and drove about a mile down the road, and then, It stopped i had no drive gears. I shut it off and started it back up, then I had low gear, but as soon as it would try to shift it would all go away, back to nothing,so then i would have to shut it off again, if I put into low gear, then it will continue to drive in low gear, but still no reverse, and only low gear, but if it is in drive it will try to shift, then everything is gone and it will not shift back down, I have to shut it off and start it back up, which makes me think its not mechanical, but maybe electrical. could anyone tell me?
Have your transmission oil filter changed;
it is located under the transmission pan
The oil is what makes the transmission shift
When you shut off the engine it stops the transmission pump then when you start up again the transmission shifts until the filter clogs again

car will not shift out of second gear. while driving it shifts fine to second gear from first gear but it stays in second gear the entire time driven
it is going in limp mode,
if your speedometer is not working will cause this, that would be a speed sensor,or the other two reasons would be the input or output sensors on the tranny

Car shuts off while driving. Will start back up again but shuts off again. Checked battery and battery is good. What can cause this?
Does it shut off right away after you restart it or can you drive it a good distance while you waite for the symptom to ocurr.

What oil should be used in a 1994 Chrysler Concorde with a 3.3 engine? What weight oil? How many quarts?
Hello, first if the car has over 75,000 miles you should use high mileage oil. If memory serves correct i believe they take 4.5 quarts of oil. buy 5 and add 4 then start the engine and let it run for about 30 seconds then check the dipstick and add accordingly. it is winter so you should tend to run a lighter weight oil. Again this all depends on how many miles the engine has, under 100,000 5w30 and higher than 100k use 10w30. But be sure to change the filter and not ignore it because it is just as important as the oil. Hope this helps and answered your questions. good luck

how do I replace the serpentine belt on a 1994 concorde?
Remove the alternator/power steering pump and water pump drive belt to gain access to the air conditioning drive belt.
To remove and install the air conditioning compressor drive belt, first loosen the tensioner pulley lock nut, then turn the adjusting screw to raise or lower the tensioner pulley assembly Accessory Drive - 3.3L Engine or Accessory Drive - 3.5L Engine To adjust the air conditioning drive belt, loosen the tensioner pulley nut and adjust belt tension by tightening adjusting screw. Torque pulley nut to 54 N•m (40 ft. lbs.) after adjustment.
The Poly-V generator/power steering belt has an adjustable tensioner pulley located on the timing belt cover Accessory Drive - 3.5L Engine to maintain proper belt tension. To remove or install this belt, Release tension by loosening the tensioner pulley nut and adjustment bolt Accessory Drive - 3.5L Engine Reverse procedure to install and tighten belt to specified tension.

car going into limp mode in hot weather
Hello
The engine
and transmission in this cars drive train are fully
electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Power Train
Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer
stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions
to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant teperature sensor and MAF
sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to
read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with
a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform
the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s)
DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL THE DIAGNOSIS & TESTING IS
COMPLETED.

So, the trunk ajar light stays on even though the trunk is securely closed. Is it possible to disable the light from showing in the message center? or another way to fix this?
Look for a contact switch in the trunk. Sometimes, when the trunk (or door for that matter) gets slammed, then button gets set deeper.
What's happening is door and trunk switches are "self adjusting", and a slam "Self adjusts" too far. It is hard to reset the switch without killing it. Just get another one if you find this to be your situation. Test the switch before you buy a replacment.
