1999 suzuki grand vitara airbag
you have 3 choices. (2 stated, in operators guide , in glove box)
1: ignore, it, and be unprotected. ( or worse , read about it))
2: Get the car serviced.
3: DIY, (iffy at best) but you can in fact read the FSM or read the words
in the
alldata.com web site. login and read. under SRS air bags.
It states to, connect the air bag scan tool, and lots of tests using other toots.
$4 day view too.

RTM , read the manual.
FSM, means , FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL.
Putting in/replacing pollen filter 99-mod
if you read the FSM. youd have seen that it says, found on SOME models and trim options.
why assume its there?
my 04 has it, but my 04 FSM (real) says it might not be there.
so..... its not there.
on mine its in clear view behind the glove box. (removed box.)
there is no reason at all to remove the heater. its just slot in the box.
accessable from the glove box opening.
i can quote the fsm/.
volume 2
chapter 7 HVAC
page 8 and 28

Popping in air filter box
that is back fire and gross misfire. and usually timing related.
so what engine is there, like 3 kinds offered all very different..
1.6 (G16). 2.0 (J20) and H20 2L V6??
and when i advance the crank sensor till it almost buck
that statement leads me think, you are spining the G16v engine
distributor. that means the cam belt slipped.
if you had check the spark timing before doing that ACT
youd have see that way off, and know its the cam slippped
but now you hid the truth by doing that.
so check compression, 170min, if at 80 on all 4 or very low on all four
the cam belt did slip.
the belt is 60k miles belt, do the service.
G16B belt.

MY SUZUKI USES ALOT OF FUEL ANY IDEA
how much is too much. Miles per gallon? 20 or 10 or 5? what?
what engine, 1.6L, 2.0L 2.5L?
sure a huge list.
1: some one steals the fuel.
2 ;some one drives it when you are not looking>?
3: brakes dragging.
4: drive endlessly in the city at 5 mph? all day.?
5: fuel leaking down the gutter to the storm drain at night?
6: driving too fast.
7: right foot too happy, (move it slowly for best results)

Setting timing on a suzuki jimny
There is no setting procedure. This is a computer controlled timing car. Only way to know where it is is with a scanner hooked up to see where it is. The electronic ignition module and the crank sensor is what determines where things are suppose to be, If timing is a problem it gets expensive to diagnose and fix it but if it were out of specs you would set a code for it and most likely wouldnt start. If the car doesnt start then there is no way to check base timing until you figure out why it doesnt start.
Now with this info what is the problem so I can better direct you.
Diesel fault finding
weak battery , slow turns.
bad glow plugs.(or controls to them)
bad fuel or water in fuel. (or controls to them)
low compression
Grand vitara tune up
Run fault codes and see what faults are recorded. If there are no recorded faults and the vehicle stars and runs and changes gears as it should then the CPU has the tune up in order and you do not need to spend any money.
Speedometer going crazy
USA or non USA car. not knowing this makes answers , all wrong.
define crazy.?
if bouncing like mad"? is
1: the cable to it bad. if cable good ,speed is bad, (tests, ask)
2: if the cable gets bad enough the CEL comes on and shows bad VSS. (DTC) veh.speed sensor, dead.
oops 99 is a cust year,
every page in fsm (related) shows if equipped.
cable speed (old school)
electric gauge, no cable. new cars. cusp year.
that means , one looks for the cable to the
tranny or to the not stated 4wd transfer case.
if its a 100% electric gauge
and crazy means bouncing?
its:
A: bad meter.
B: bad power to meter (or loose fuse or speedo connector plug)
C: Bad ECU (hah)
D: vss input to ECU is crazy,
or go to alldata.com and read, its all there. RTM.
