My brother cut the wires to his 04 subaru forester climate control while installing his stereo. Cut too close to the connecter to splice. We can't seem to get the 20 pin connector open to rewire.

I have used a flat blade smallest jeweler's screw driver to release connector contacts before when not having the correct contact release tool. The release tools are basically a handle with a thin walled tube at each end, one for socket contacts, the other end for pins. A picture or two of the connector and contacts from each end would be helpful. I hope this is of some help to you.

I have just purchased a 2004xt Forester when i

Could be several souces: 1. Check the alternator and AC belt idler bearings. Replace as needed. 2. Check the alternator itself for noise and bearing wear. Replace the belt if needed. 3. If very cold (below 0C) the power steering pump make a lot of noise for a while (30s to 2 mins) till it all warms up. 4. If the above are OK, then the next is the timing belt idler bearings.

2004 Subaru forester turns over but won't start. Battery is fine, replaced coil pack still no luck

you need to check for fuel pressure next. Could be many things, but a fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator would be prime suspects.

Where is the inertia switch reset

It depends on the error code(s) being reported. A very common one (P0457) is that the engine computer thinks the gas cap is loose. The gas filler neck often develops rust holes which cause this code, fix is repair usually quite easy, or replace. There are many other error codes. Look around your area for a Subaru shop other than the dealer. Your problem fix may much simpler and cheaper than the dealer, who often give the most expensive, worst case, repair options.

Left passenger window down in rain and now it wont go up. 2004 Subaru Forester

Same thing happened to 2002 Suburban and it turned out to be the cables which are connected the window regulator (motor), assuming you have power windows. You will need to remove the panel on the passenger side door to determine the cause. It could be one of three things, the cables, the regulator, or a broken fuse or wire stopping the electrical current...this is pretty rare especially if this is the only window which is not operating.
