I have a 2001 jeep cherokee sport. at first the passenger windows only work from drivers side. was having trouble with the drivers side which worked so often. drivers window would go up and would n

One Problem. All Of The Window Controls Are Controlled By The Master Switch, Which Is The Drivers Window/Door Lock Control Assembly In The Door. Sometimes A Removal Of The Control Assembly And A Through Cleaning Can Bring It Back To Life. More Specifically The Window Lock Button. This Is Why The Other Windows Have Stopped Working At The Door But The Drivers Control Still Operated All The Doors Just Fine. Next To Go Bad Is The Auto Down Function. basically The Inner workings Of The Switches Are Gunked Up. Take the Driver Side Door Panel Off, Remove The Door Lock Assembly From The Panel. It Can Come Apart, But It's A Three Hands Kind Of Thing. The Buttons Pry Off, But Be Careful They Will Fly Across The Room. Once You Open The assembly wipe Everything Down With Some Cleaner, I Used A rag And carb Cleaner. I Did This And It Worked For A Couple Of Months. It Was Much Easier To Order A New One From Rock Auto.Com, It's Plug In Easy. 1.5 Hours If You've Never Taken The Door Panel Off Just Because You Have To Be Patient. My Replacement Been Working Great For 2+ Years. Cost ~ $60. Sorry For The Weird Caps, Phone Reply.

No power to coil

Because the ASD relay is not powering, most likely due to no crank signal.....aka, you need a crank position sensor.

Where is ignition coil located on 1998 jeep cherokee and how to replace

It could be heating up but there are some tests you can do to rule this out. When the vehicle doesn't start, do you know if you are NOT getting spark to your spark plugs or are you NOT geting fuel. You need these 2 things to at least start the engine. If you do not it will not start. Basically you would be best to find out what is missing and then start diagnosing before you replace any parts. Feel free to email me at [email protected] with any questions or needing testing procedures. I went on below and gave you instructions as far as replacing the coil but I still stress the fact that you need to diagnose your problem first. Also this is for the 4.0 liter engine. Wasn't sure if you had the 4 cylinder engine so I went with the most common engine for your vehicle. I hope this helps.12_18_2011_1_20_22_pm.jpg12_18_2011_1_20_42_pm.jpg

Dashboard lights and all guages stoped working

The board if you can call it that, is highly prone to failure like you describe. You can have a lost or floating ground and not see it. There are companies like this: http://www.bba-reman.com/content.aspx?content=Grand_Jeep_Cherokee_Dashboard That can fix them. It is cheaper than getting OEM, if there is anyone that has OEM for it.

My air conditioning stops working while I'm driving.

This is odd...will it do the same thing if you just let the car idle for an extended period of time or just when driving? The reason I ask is that the compressor has an electro magnet centrifugal clutch that makes sure that the compressor always spins at the same rpm regardless of your engines rpm's ...if that makes sense. If the clutch has failed, you will be forcing freon through or across the reed valve gasket since it's a closed system as the pressure will have no where else to go. If it works fine at idle you can either rebuild the compressor or get another depending on your skill level. Hope this helps

Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited P0700 diagnostic problem

P0700 means there is a transmission fault code in the transmission controller. Since the transmission controller doesn't have a light attached, it tells the engine controller to turn the light on using this code. You'll have to access the transmission controller to further diagnose the problem.

service bulletin 08-15-99 deals with erratic cluster operation and involves checking and cleaning the BUS connections and soldering in a new patch harness. Check with local dealer for a copy or may find it online. This will be the most likely cause.

High pitched engine squeal upon start up, then goes away I'm thinking bad pulley

All though the solutions above are possible, the squeal usually just means one of your belts is getting going bad. Pop the hood, and turn your belt slightly (the thinner one, not the timing belt) and see if the bottom side is looking 'glazed' or if there are intermittent cracks. You may need a flashlight to determine this. If the belt is bad, some times you can just loosen the alternator and get the belt off. Some cars require a lot more work. Don't be surprised if the mechanic tries to get you to replace the water pump at the same time when you take the car in to get the belt replaced. Depending on your financial situation at the time, it may be a good idea to replace the water pump if you have gone 5 years or more on rhe current one. Hope this helps, all the best to you, Kerry Hostetter 48dc7a7a-2033-4f1b-89c4-a94f6d897d92.jpg
