You should activade the OD on your Cherokee if your are hauling a trailer. or if you are in a constant climb.. The OD activated will maintain the transmission in third gear.

Where is the obd port on a1994 jeep grand cherokee
HI there:For the engine computer, the connector is in the engine compartment, right beside the coolant overflow bottle. It should be clipped to the wiring harness, and may have a plastic cap on it. It's shaped like a fat L.Extracting Fault Codes:Without ever starting the engine Turn the ignition switch ON, OFF, ON, OFF, ON and observe the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. The CHECK ENGINE LIGHT should begin to flash a series of codes. The flashes will be separated by short and long pauses. The long pauses separate the "ones" and "tens" positions, and each code from the next. A code 55 will be displayed at the end of the test.Hope this helps.

Wipers don't work and I found a 4.8A 12v 4GA 8956 001 110 fuse like part on the floor under steering wheel
I had the same thing happen to me.The piece you found is dealer part # 56001110 and is a 4.8 amp breaker that controls the windshield wipers. It plugs into the bottom of the fuse panel, a little above where your left foot rests when driving the car.I was wearing my size 14 boots and kicked it out, which snapped off the two tabs.I pulled the tabs out of the box with pliers then bought a replacement.I read that the dealer sells them for about $30 and some websites (like Quadratec, part # 17015.8000) sell them for about $30 as well, but I bought one on eBay for a few bucks cheaper. That fuse panel is in a bad location.

Overheating and now engine 'clicking noises.
possible causes of overheating are, dirty cooling system, clogged radiator, bad thermostat. Use only distilled water with a good quality coolant.
still overheating? have your top head checked - warped head, valves, valve seats, etc. You might need to have your engine's compression checked if it is still within specs.

ENGINE WILL NOT TURN OVER
take battery leads off clean posts and replace. If knowthing happens your battery may be dead. If clicking sound then its your starter motor. Tap it with a hammer and it may start. Try jump starting it from another car. Or ring the NRMA.
