My 1998 Isuzu Rodeo is overheating while driving.

if the radiator is clogged or (gunked up) prestone makes a kit to flush the coolant system its sold at most parts stores you will cut the upper heater hose and put the adapter in line than pour in a flush of your choice and follow those directions it should end with you attaching a water hose to the adapter and flushing the entire cooling system. And yes i would definitly change the thermostat especially when you say it was approaching the red this could be the first signs of a sticking thermostat. hope this helps

How to check and add transmission fluid?

you lost the operators guide, sure.... and if in USA, that be hard the dealer died. so cant just drive there and buy one, huh? actually they are free, (its a big safety issue not having one) add thrue dip stick hole, check. on most cars is this.
  • run engine for 2 mins, (if in Siberia, drive 5 miles)
  • set hand brake and foot brake, and cycle the shifter true all gears.
  • as 3 times.
  • then when tranny at room temp 20C/ 72F
  • then check the dip level (cold = 20C)
  • it must show at cold, not hot. or low.
  • must be checked running engine.
  • and the fluid varies its volume by actual oil temperature.
RTM is best alldata.com or go to ebay and buy a used, operators guide, and WIN.

Does a power steering belt affect the brakes?

no. but if the engine is running below 800 rpm there is less vacuum and brakes can be effected by the Brake Vacuum booster. and slow RPM can make steering pump weaker. so first things first. what is ENGINE RPM an is the belt slipping of RPM is ok>?

Why want my engine start

Have someone try to turn the ignition to just before start , while you lean under the vehicle at the rear. Make sure the car is in park. What you are listening for is a whining noise that will stop after 4-5 seconds. If you don't hear anything, most likely the fuel pump is shot.

I have a 98 isuzu rodeo and it wont stay running

hot or cold engine,or both???????????????????? sure... the ECU works OVERTIME; hard, to keep the engine running. this is done by the action of the ISC valve. so can you keep it running with a fast right foot?????????? a real mech needs to drive car. does it have full power on hills? is the tune up service done, the 60kmile repeats and needs to be done. the ECU can not keep idle right on any engine that runs like crappppppp. 1: all fuses good. 2: engine never warms to normal 180F+ temp and hold??? 3: not tuned up. 4: engine misfiring. 5: engine flooding. 6: engine starving for fuel. 7: OMG, the ISC wires fell off, (inspections do work on old cars) there are simple tests. for each case. one more #8. EFI system lost 12vdc power. stalls. 12.6vdc not running, 13.3v -15v running.

My gas hand does not work on my rodeo isuzu and the fuse keep blowing out

You will need to check the wire from the tank to the fuse. This is trial and error. Most likely near the tank so a good place to start. Examine the wire's for wear rubbing against the tank or body work from where they leaves the tank to the main loom Re-cover or replace the damaged wire. If the damage is elsewhere then you will need testing tools to find the broken wire. Hope this helps. C.
