1997 Isuzu Oasis Questions & Answers
Isuzu mu 1994
I bet when the timing belt was replaced the mechanic has to
swap a wire on the back of the instrument cluster in order to turn of the
timing belt warning light. I have seen it before were they fit the wire to the
wrong spot and this messes with the overdrive and it will not go into
overdrive.
The 'check engine' light on the dashboard is
well...check the engine! lol
But seriously, just take it to Autozone or Advance Auto, those places will all pull your OBDII codes for you and tell you what they're supposed to mean. 99% of the time it's some kind of emissions issue, bad sensor, etc.
Slips out of gear when in 4WD
Check the oil level in the shift on the fly (sotf) part of the axle thats the left of the front one - it holds about 1 pint of gear oil and gets missed at service time .

Who do you replace a radiator
Before you start remove the ground cable from your battery. Remove the radiator shroud that covers the top of the radiator. Then there should be a connector that plugs into the cooling fans disconnect this plug. There are 2 or 4 bolts that hold the cooling fans in place.Remove the bolts and the cooling fans. Then you want to drain your cooling system.Once its drained remove the upper and lower radiator hoses and the overflow tube. Then you want to remove the transmission cooling lines on the left side of the radiator.Be sure to put a pan under it because it might leak a little fluid out of them. Now on the top of the radiator there are two brackets that hold the radiator in place.Remove these brackets and carefully remove the radiator.Alittle tip for you when you put the new radiator take the box it came in and cut pieces of cardboard to cover the fin area so that when you put the cooling fans in you don't damage the new radiator.Once there in then you can pull the cardboard out.Once you have it installed and everything is hooked back up fill it with anti freeze and check for leaks.
