1997 Isuzu Hombre Questions & Answers
How do I check temp. Sensor?
it is a sender unit not a sensor unit
take the wire off it and see if the gauge falls to zero
put the wire back on and if it goes to hot ,replace the sender unit
the difference is that temp gauge sender units have 1 wire to it and work through the gauge to it then through a heat altered resistor in it to earth (ground)
A temp sensor has more wires to it and works from the ecm
it closes a circuit when the coolant reaches a preset temperature, sending a signal to the ECM which then closes a relay to make the fan/s run to cool the radiator
I have a 1997 Isuzu
If the light is on, a code is stored. Get the code read. Then post it. Guessing which code is stored is a waste of time.
I have a 97 izuzu hombre and ever since i changed out the plugs its been getting a gas smell
the 4cy. or the v6 (4,x,V)there are plugs, wrong plugs, orgaped wrong, and new plugs can be bad, I have a nice collection of new mutant spark plugs. on the wall.wires bad. whey you replace spark plugsthe wires break so put new NGK wire on it , mag wire are best.or you mixed the wire order.do not mix the HV wire( the large high voltage wire) that apples to both distriubors and the 4 cylinder 2.2L with 2 coil packsthe V6 has one coil packthe gap is .045 v6 and spark gap 2.2 is .040"
My 97 azuzu hombre is leaking gas from somewhere seems like it started after changing plugs
2.2l gm S10 is the real name of truck4.3L is real name of V6, GMyour other posts tell me , what you did wrongthat leak is not a leak its called floodingwhen you damage the spark wires, spark ends, and every cylinder with dead spark floodscan even drip fuel from the exhaust port flanges.seen it vast times.next time I will read all postor better you stick to one, post one proband add to it. is bestgood day.
Where is my purge valve solenoid located on 1997 isuzu hombre?
this is really GM S10 truckit's not an Isuzu, only the silly badge is isuzu.2.2L GM engine4.4l V6 Gm enginewhy not tell what is wrong first then we can play easter egg hunts all day.if the scan tool told you EVAP failsthen1: buy new gas cap or tighten yours.2: then using scan tool reset the error.3: drive4: if the scan errors for EVAP are gone, good.5: if not, then the tank vents leak, a leak down test is warranted now, (i bet you lack tools?)
1997 Isuzu hombre NO movement when into gear, left IT in first gear let UP off the clutch and the truck didn't jump or CUT off. . What's wrong with it?
MT trans. got it. (said clutch let up.. is the clue)
engine is running right? (sorry)
and you shift to all gears, and car does not move, RIGHT?
if the clutch slips and car will not move in ALL gears.
the clutch is bad, or if a cable clutch, never setting free play on cable is the cause,... done 100s.
or if hydraulic actuated clutch pedal (im too lazy to look)
then if it fails the car can only moved if you start engine in gear.
see?
please post all steps.
i get in car,
i start engine in neutral. (did you) or start in gear with clutch to floor.?
i then select all gears, and release clutch and car will not move.
like that.... and win. (i can diagnose any clutch, ive wrecked many racing, so.... see all horrors) and fixed them by self. all.
if you can only move car , starting engine in gear.?
that is bad clutch cable or actuator (slave or master cylinder)
is the clutch locked all times, or slips all the time.
see? only that need be said.
and 10 other symptoms. (chatters, noises, grabs, etc)

Preseting radio stations so i don't have to use the tuning dial everytime
Most radios let you set them like this - select bandwidth FM/AM then tune to a favourite station, find the row of numbered buttons under digital display (usually 1 - 5) then press and hold button 1 for a few seconds, the station will be set to button 1, so to speak. Repeat tuning to another station then press button 2, etc...some radios have up to 15 slots per band. How many stations do you listen to....To recall station 1, press button 1 ..button 2.......... Red.
