1990 Isuzu Amigo Questions & Answers
1990 isuzu amigo that dies in 1st gear, all sensor lights are on!
this vehicle is seventeen years old ? something is worn out but what and where ? i have no information as to weither its petrol or diesel so i cannot advise but changing a alternator as well as this would never cause your problem as stated without knowing what fuel type your engine is i cannot even think about suggesting a few diagnostics other than to ask at the local garage ,could be anything from a perished vacumn pipe to fuel problem .no idea without more information .sorry
Won't start or keep running
double posted,
so it does crank
and does start but now wont stay running.
that can be up to 50 things,
I can do 3-5 tests. and find out why
do you want to do them , or for me to guess.
Impossible hands off. but here is my guess.
car was parked for 3 years, and fuel is bad.
i bet my guess sucks.
Won't start
old post.
does it crank ROBUSTLY (means 250 RPM about)
does it have spark on all cylinders.?
if yes, does Test fuel work?
Heater and air wont work
You probably already tried this, but have you disconnected the battery, waited a few minutes, then reconnected? That might clear the memory and reset the brain (pcm).
Collison sensor
no, once the sensor is tripped it will never function again. when it trips it breaks internally and should be replaced by a professional.. The SRS system is very touchy and contains many easily damaged components. It is also sensitive to the wrong kind of testing and can trigger airbags, seat belt tensioning devices and can cause injury. Only trained technicians should ever repair any of them.
Car stalls when I use my clutch
this will be down to the thrust bearings on the crank shaft pushing the crank shaft against its webb's when the clutch is fully depressed would recomend new main bearings and a crank shaft grind
Wheres the timing marks on the crank
cam gear mark lines up with head at 9 o clock and dowl pin near centre bolt is at 12 o clock
crank gear keyway at 12 o clock and mark in disc behind gear lines up with mark on oil pump at 12 o clock also.
Location of ecm unit
if it is a 2wd with a 2.6 4 cylinder then it is
Front seating area, driver side, under dash, above kick panel, mounted on firewall
Break light
Yes check the brake peddle it has a switch attach to it that might be sticking this operates your brake lights.
My brake light stays on
the sensor in the handle is bad... do you have the dash mounted lever or the console (between driver and passenger seat)??
both are easy to fix...if you really feel like fixing it. My light has been on about 40,000 miles lol.
