Ok I'm no expert but here's my take on this. I think you solid a whole lot in this car, i had a car that had an issue with the revs going up and down she idling and would be ok when driving, that I believe is a MAF sensor symptom... I believe it should throw a code for that.

Another thing you can do is clean air intake, clean/replace idle control valve and clean throttle body, if your tb is electronic (not sure on your make and model) make sure you do the idle re-learning. That can help with the mpg a little. Recommended tire pressure also can help with mpg.

Last thing I can think of, check well the smoke that comes out, when smoke is black is burning oil (seals get worn out and overnight oil might leak in places that later will get hot), if smoke is white it's burning water (blown head gasket) and if it's blue, then it's burning gas, if that's the case, that's where your gas is going and it could relate to a failing MAF.

(cylinder #) right. why not just ask? id bet you lost this. its in all SM sevice manual on this car. the pcm does the order, 153624 but fires left pack then right,the center, center,right then left see? this is called wasted spark. (a key learning tool)

old post we dont, we replace, it, but if highly motivated, scan can , no photos no joy. if its how to install one say so and tell engine, that is there, of the 4 or 5 day 1 new. we cant guess any of that. or post VIN if in USA.

you skipped all steps. 1: check levels first. 2: check fuses, 2nd/ we test them and not guess. 3: SCAN it, seems you skipped the most important step if you dont scan it you dont get to see why the TCM is unhappy not ever. so scan it,, what more needs to be know. the service manual is clear, did you read that yet? on car tests, Automatic. winter mode skips 1st./ so if winter mode works, that means , TCM may not be selecting 1st for some reasons, scanning it you get to see that. why does every post here, fear scan tools. odd.

Starts and idles ok, and reaches , normal engine temp. ok, but stalls in both Reverse and Drive. and restarts easy, after the stall. right? no engine size stated. ok, this can be lots of things but now my useless guess. low fuel pressure, is gas fresh? was car parked for year, then started, or longer.? when was the last time car was a good daily driver? can you prevent the stall, with a fast right foot action.???????? the last question is very revealing.... last question, when was the last full tuneup done, 10 years ago?

you can not do that, ever the ECU/PCM fires the 6 coils to do a raddical swap like this, you must do it all engine, all sensors, harnesses and matching ECU!!! sorry , but its not 60s FORD. not even close. wishes are dreams and dreams never work in complex electronics. and no mention of years of car and donor car. wow.

we have answered this vast times here, now.s its here if you search. if thats too hard, go to mitchells and log in and read it there. as most mech do.... is it the 2 cam or one cam head. no photos of engine so cant tell. the 2 cam has W at the end of engine true name. see the wiki page on USA troopers.?if car is USA< it has 2 different headsso, as we ask every one here endlessly, what engine. again. surely you can count cams on both heads, DOHC has 4 cams. and totally differnt.

the question you ask is legit. unlike other answers seen here. op , no engine stated you do know that EFI systems vary by ENGINE, right? and did you know that Isuzu sold the last car in usa with a carb in 1994? hark. are you in USA? log in to mitchell and read? http://www.eautorepair.net/Marketing/Default.asp the summit is a rebadged, Mitsubishi Mirage. the 91 may have the 1.5L 12valve, engine. ill now log in for you, to get a real answer, USA car. you gave no symptoms, so cant really help. only answer the PSI question. the isuzu page has no data, so im looking it up in Mirage page the correct answer is 48psi but the FPR regulator sets that, and varies by the FPR is located on the Fuel rail, in 1991 and is vacuum controls, if you read the FSM book or link above. youd see how to test the pump and the FPR. This EFI engine must have corrrect fuel pressure at idle and wide open throttle. or EFI will inject wrong. this is a basic, EFI MPI injected engine, no carb. The ecu can not read fuel pressure (like 2016 can) and will not correct for errors. 48psi is key on pressure, and when the engine starts the pressure drops about 10psi. (vacuum caused) there are many tests. leakdown. injector balance tests FPR tests, I do 3 tests here, ask. pump shunt test. ask. proof, note there are 5 engines in 1991, see?
