Engine overheating
i would take thermostat out don't put one back in , fill system with water run engine see if it still get hot if it does you have a bad water pump .....check hoses .clamps for tightness and radiator cap seal
'89 Isuzu Trooper with cold idle problems. Stalls
This can be related to the Crank Angle Sensor (CAS). A bad CAS will cause all these problems. crank angle sensor ( built in distributor ). is it the 2.6 sohc, at least on the 88 its in the distributor.
Will not idle very good.
my trooper will not idle properly /it takes to long to warm up/after it warms up it rides with a high and low idle

Hi, I don't see anything in the wiring diagram to cause this behavior except the ignition switch itself. I recommend you check for power to the coil in both the start and run positions of the switch. You can use a 12 volt test light for that purpose. Hook the test light clip to engine ground and touch the probe to the yellow wire on the coil. If you do have power in both positions of the switch, the problem may be with an anti-theft system that is not showing on the wiring diagram. If you had an anti-theft system that was acting up, there would probably be a light blinking on the dash. Please let me know if you have questions and thanks for using FixYa.

It should be located in the front seating area, center, under dash, next to steering column, mounted on panel. I hope this helps and good luck.
I need the firing order for an 89 trooper V6?

The firing order is 1 2 3 4 5 6. The rotor turns in a clockwise direction, cylanders 1 3 5 are on the right side or passenger side of the engine 2 4 6 are on the left side. Number 1 location on the cap is about 7:00.

i had similar problems with my 1989 as well as the wife's 1990....my problem was freyed wires near gas tank as well as fuel pump relay...the wife's was relay as well.try to follow fuel pump and relay wires test along the way. hope this helps!!
My 1989 isuzu trooper will not start it is not
Slacken injector pipes and check your getting fuel.The fuel tank is a fault with the trooper, The feed pipes are at the top of the fuel tank, and corrode causing the main feed pipe to draw in air.You have to remove bottom pan under tank and then the three bolts each side of the tank to drop down,taking care not to pull on the outher pipes.im quite sure that's your problem.Any ait that can get sucked into the fuel line.That engine will not start.

It sounds like it could be the throwout bearing. You'll want to have this checked because over time it will only get worse. Take it to a transmission shop to see if thats your problem.
I push my clutch down and it stays there the car
Try this select gear before starting the engine then start the engine if this helps then its a clutch fault.also try bleed out the hydraulic clutch.The slave cylinder on the gear box gave trouble on thease models ckeck that there is no oil leaking out of the cylinder..

usually when the breaks are not responding after the second application would lead me to the brake booster itself.............Hope this helps.
