The only vacuum line you need connected is the one that goes from the back of the alternator to the brake booster. The other line that is nice but not necessary, is from the intercooler to the top of the injection pump. The rest of the vacuum is for the two valves that are involved with the cold start up of the vehicle, and the AC.

When tranny starts jumping out of gear this is usually internal problem (except where the linkage is misadjusted or bent.)

Kindly did you managed to change 4jx1 with 4jg2? Did you changed the gearbox? What modification is needed for this change? thanks.

move to dirt,sand,gravel, grass, select 2H and it will now come out. this is called wide up, on all part time 4wd, and wind up, locks the shifter rails. (never use 4H on dry (no ice) pavement are you on pavement , you never said, as it is and offroad car.)

Hello, The problem you have is not as big as getting a new engine. What realy needs to be done is to remove that cylider head and take it to a machine shop to remove the plug. I sa this because if any particles or debris getting down into the cylinder. While the haead is at the machine shop you will need o go to an auto parts supply house like Parts Source and by anew head gasket and plug set.

If you can aford it have the machine shop machine the head to ensure it is true and flat. What they will do is to check to see how out it is and machine down to the level. God luck and please let me know how it goes for you. It is not too dificult a job.

My suggestion is talk to the people you buy your tires from.

on the drivers side head on the rear of the engine, behind the intake manifold. its kinda hidden beneath a heater hose. check out user steve hurc. he has put some pictures on where to find it on fixya

check that the hub locks are engaging and that the selector actuator is actually putting it in 4wd.

Put vehicle on jack stands. Remove wheel, remove 4WD hub, Disconnect lower balljont from the spindal. Cut the wheel to the left for a left wheel pull axle from the hub. Use a pry bar and pop the inner hub from the diff. Reverse to assemble.

1. Remove the tire.
2. There are 2 bolts holding the caliper in place, and they are on the back side of the caliper. Remove both bolts, and remove caliper. It may be tough to remove, but essentially it slides off. Use a flat head screw drive if you have to wedge it.
3. Remove the old brake pads.
4. Compress the caliper piston in with a piston compressor, or c-clamp.
5. Install new brake pads.
6. Install caliper and caliper bolts.
7. Install tire and pump brakes until firm.

sounds like a dirty oil or filter problem. It is taking this long for the viscosity of the oil to change to allow shifting. Run fault codes as well consider having an oil change done on the transmission ( oil colour should be cherry red not tan coloured.)

wow, 2 posters in a row, and now year. are you kidding? some are carb some are EFI fueled. apples and oranges, different. if its EFI there is no idle speed adjust, the ECU does that , all by its self. (called the ISC servo)

You will have to engage a person that has a lap top computer with the programs installed and have him reprogram the CPU. If the problem is because you have taken the battery out and refitted it then most problems can be solved by using a scanner to do the job.

73 is Carb , tell the forum, what engine, and if carb, and if still stock , this old if a carb , most carb cars USA are 7PSI. it really the spec of the exact carb what the float valve wants. back then 6 carbs. which one? daunting, no?
