The expansion valve on my 1997 Acura TL has gone
I have looked everywhere for good instructions on replacing the expansion valve on your Acura. What i found is a great pictorial on getting to the blower motor, and expansion valve. I am sure the dealer wanted a small fortune for this repair, and after reading the instructions carefully, i can see why. This will be a tough job, so good luck.
GO HERE for the a full color pictorial and be sure to read the whole thing. As it progresses it will get to the removal of the expansion valve.

CLIMATE CONTROL PANEL DISPLAYS 88
OK, let's work through this together.
The climate control panel shows a/c. That's good for the summer.
The panel displays 88 deg. F. That's a little hot.
It appears that the panel is showing F1. When does the panel show this?
When the panel shows 88 Deg. F you cannot turn the system off and make any adjustments.

Now, are you able to get any cold air out of the air conditioning system?
If you can, then what temperature can you set it to.
I think that the electronic climate control panel is fried on the motherboard and needs to be replaced with a new one or a used one that is known to be good from a salvage yard.
Hope this helps.

I need a code for my radio
The code is on a pair of cards that came with the owners manual. If you don't have the cards you can call the Acura dealer and take the car to them. The code is tied to the car's serial number and most dealers will give you the code free of charge.
Headlight are not working
Sounds like a blown fuse. Have you checked the fuse? The owner's manual should have a diagram of the fuse box showing what each fuse is for. Locate the fuse box...usually under the dash board next to the driver's side door. Pull the fuse for the headlights and shine a flashlight on the clear plastic part of fuse. If the wire in the plastic part is broken, then the fuse is blown. Many gas stations carry fuses, make sure to replace it with a fuse having the same amp rating. Fuse should have the amp rating written on it (5, 10, 15 amp etc.).
Good luck
