Hi the noise you hear is more than likely going to be a dry pulley bearing this is the most likely cause of the noise you hear.
the most common of the lot is either the power steering pulley or the air con pulley.
The only real way of pinpointing the actual right pulley is to go out and buy some thin spray oil or lube, you need a spray that sprays out fine oil like an aerosol type of spray. Now what you need to do is start with on pulley and give it a good spray in the middle where the bearing is and if you can get to the back then give this a spray also, then start the engine and see if you still have the noise, keep doing this until the noise stops and then you will no witch pulley has a dry bearing.
Now on finding the dry bearing you have two options you can either replace the pulley or just give it a spray every time it gets noisy the spray lube will be enough to stop the noise without causing any damage just make sure you give it a good spray and it should be fine.
so go through each pulley one at a time do all the pulleys and tensioners basically everything the belts run on, eventually you will come across the pulley and the noise will stop for a month or two so its up to you then if you replace the pulley or just give it a good spray every now and again.
let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok
Subaru 2003 forester check engine light came on
The "check engine" warning light advises that the vehicle is in "fail safe" mode. That means only some of the car's capabilities are operational, just enough to get you to the nearest service point. You probably should not drive it any further than that. Have your Subaru service man download and analize the fault codes from the car's ECM which will indicate what the problem is.
I recently changed my battery on a 2005 Forester
A thought i had is that when replacing a battery, it usually takes a good drive down the highway for the computer to "re-calibrate" itself. I replaced my battery recently and the car did not run the same as usual until i took it for a 20 mile jaunt on the highway.

The Subaru site has the following recomendation. Automatic transmission and CVT vehicles can be towed with
all wheels on the ground in an emergency for very short distance (under

The driver heated seats and cigarette lighter
Check the fuse box and replace the fuse if it is bad. If this makes them work and the fuse blows again you will have to trace the wiring and or heating units to single out the problem.

2003 subaru forester stalls at idle (automatic)
This is a typical form of either dirty injectors which you can clean with a high octane gas at least 2 tanks or you can get an injector cleaner which can put in when you have a low fuel about a quarter left.
I have a 2003 Subaru Forester XT Luxury manual
Hello,
Noise can be also from some sticky brake pad, or the bearings of the rear wheels, or even some spoiler, but you should have noticed it right after installing, and it is another sound. As for the differential, there might be a broken tooth, or again bearings, regardless of oil state.
Subaru Forester hesitates turning
Just know you're not crazy....my 1999 Saturn S-Series is doing this too, particularly at low RPMs when I turn a corner. It feels like its going to stall like a manual car, but is auto. If anyone has a solution for us I'm curious to find out....

Did you check the switch on top of the steering column? It will turn on your parking lamps separately from the headlamp switch, and it is in the customary position for a hazard flasher switch on Japanese cars - maybe someone bumped it by accident or turned it on when trying to get the 4-way flashers to work.
When turning at low speeds, such as pulling into a

I would say no. It is difficult to damage a motor internally unless it is run at too high or low voltage or is mechanically overloaded or jammed. Usually they just go because they decide that it is a good time.
